You make it sound like she wanted to steal his car and killed him for the keys

I think you are struggling to name a motive because there isnt one

She made a stupid mistake that caused a death

Which comes up manslaughter not murder

I don’t know if she did, maybe not, it’s not really necessary

Motive is not a necessary element

I’m not sure where in the law, the govt has to prove motive

Show me in the law where that’s required

If you are on the jury its obviously not going to be required

But a murder conviction requires 12 guilty votes rather than just yours

What in the hell is reasonable about that and a mistake is unintentional departure from right. Sorry you are not allowed to go into someone's home and kill them and claim you made a mistake.

If the roles were reversed you would be calling for the Death Penalty.

Well 11 besides mine. I’m open to hear her evidence. All I know is at this point, she intentionally and deliberately killed the man in his own home. I’m open to hear why it is reasonable for her to mistakenly enter his home and kill him.

INALB it seems that some questions quickly arise in this lady's defense

    1. Was she in poiice uniform

    2. Did she tell the guy to do something, llke raise his hands, before she shot him

Were I in this circumstance and a uniformed cop were to just walk into my apartment and points a gun at me I'm going to do what she says.

That would be jury nullification and susceptible to a directed verdict.

Imperfect self defense. For perhaps the 8th time now. Google is your friend.

You have it in for her because of her race and her being a cop

But if the roles were reversed I’m not sure a husky male would have been so afraid of an unexpected enounter with a woman in his apartment that he would pull his gun and shoot her

If that is your entire case I think she has a good chance for acquittal or a hung jury

It's Texas, modern day Amerika. She will be acquitted by "a jury of her peers".

Your comment is near psychotic in its unrealistic exaggeration. Are you reading what you write before you hit post?

She thought she was in her apartment........to the law, that is the same as her being in her apartment.

She saw an intruder and when he came toward her and refused her commands to stop--she shot him.

She was in the wrong apartment.........a tragic mistake, but certainly not a crime because she walked in an open door.

The apartments all look alike and she was new to the building.

Why this is baffling to a lot of people here is puzzling.

If the prosecution can prove that she plotted to kill this man with this bizarre story.......then and only then could they convict her of murder.

Since there is no motive.......the prosecution is out of luck.

Why? He admitted that much already. Are you suggesting she didn’t mean to fire he gun at him?

She'll be acquitted because she just made a tragic mistake. She entered the wrong apartment because she was new to the building.

Could happen to anybody and does.

    You simply don't understand.

She was new to the building and entered the wrong apartment thinking it was hers.

Tragic mistake, but one that many people have made. Her being a cop and being armed turned a harmless mistake into one of great harm.

That on it's face does not make it murder.

    Not necessarily.
