I always hear how Democrats are socialists. They aren't, they are socially liberal corporate stooges. This is why they lost the election by such a wide margin (and why Trump won the primary against fervent capitalists). Congratulations to the smart Republicans who voted FOR this amendment by Bernie Sanders (I).

"...more than a dozen Democrats late Wednesday quietly threw their weight behind Big Pharma and voted down an amendment that would have allowed pharmacists to import identical—but much less expensive—drugs from Canada and other countries."

These COWARDS voted AGAINST lowering our outrageously high drug prices, helping big pharma. They will be primaried, I am hoping.

we've heard it all before from leftists trying to distance themselves from the inevitable consequences of their ideology. why bother trying to explain it for the thousandth time?

Doesn't fit their narrative and it exposes the changing rifts in politics. Whether R or D, passionate Americans are fighting against Corporate America. Great to see. I'm even surprised John McCain took a stand. Props to him.

What's new? Both parties are in the pockets of the donors. Put on steroids by Citizens United, thanks to GOP-appointed SC judges.

I have been thinking that for quite some times. Now you put names on my thoughts.

It's about time people learned the ideological differences beyond shifting party lines. Thanks.

I maintain that the left had no real representation in the last elections as soon as Sanders was out.

I'm socially left on a good deal of social issues, but fiscally conservative on financial issues. This bill would have greatly appealed to me and I would've voted for it if I were a Senator.

Excuse me? Allowing big pharma to rip off customers was never part of the ideological left, what the hell are you talking about?

That's because you are a decent human being, and not corrupted by big money. Kudos!
