This was obvious before, but now, it's outright blatant, the deal the white house has offered is extremely generous, offering to naturalize double the amount of illegal immigrants that DACA does, and all that is asked in return is budget for a wall. Still, the Democrats refuse to accept. Why? simple, the Democratic Party will never make a deal with Trump, with all their grandstanding about working together, they will not deliver, ever. The reasons for this are two fold. For one, the Democrats far left base, which has taken over most of the party, would be enraged if Democrats even slightly hinted at working earnestly with Republicans. The second reason is that many congressional Democrats simply have nothing to earn from working with Republicans, if immigration is still an issue by November, the Democrats will use that as one of the main issues they campaign on, and since immigration has become the newest rallying cry for Democrats, and the tax cuts that they all voted against have been turning out to benefit middle class substantially, this is all they can really on if they want to win the House back. In Short whatever Republican authored deal floats their way, the Democrats will not accept, it's not politically advantageous to do otherwise.
They were offered a very sweet deal and they are going to look utterly stupid for passing on it. They are showing that they want illegals here more than they want to work for Americans and that's really going to hurt them in the elections coming up. People are going to ask them why they didn't take the deal and republicans will hammer them non-stop about it.
