Demographic change in vaccinated people, and reasons to drop hesitancy

Adult Blacks and Hispanics in the US have now matched white's vaccination raters, at 71% and 70% for these two versus 70% for whites.

With the demographic gap narrowing, the partisan gap is increasing. Now 86% of Democrats are vaccinated versus 60% of Republicans.

I'm not a fan of mandates and it does seem like people are getting vaccinated NOT because of mandates, making them fairly unnecessary:

Seems like previously reluctant people are quoting OTHER reasons to get the vaccines: the Delta variant, realizing that unvaccinated people are overburdening hospitals, and knowing someone who got seriously ill or died of Covid-19.

Like I always said, an educational campaign to debunk vaccine myths and misinformation would be more likely to get people to accept the vaccine, than aggravating and outraging them with mandates. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

 

But ALL sides of the story must be told, including how many people have died from the vaccines and how many have suffered severe adverse medical reactions to the vaccines and the story must be told in a fair and unbiased way, not sugar coated. Don't say that over 700,000 people have died from the virus but complications to or deaths are only .002185 percent. Tell the truth that over 8,000 people have died from the vaccine and that over 100,000 have suffered severe adverse reactions to the vaccines. Americans have the right to know it all and let them decide.

 

And yet mandates are still being pushed.

I'm glad YOU are saying you do not personally advocate mandates. But the fact is they are being pushed in many situations and places now.

That makes the facts surrounding the vaccine and the virus very political.

 

But will this education campaign also debunk all those myths that are in favor of the vaccine, which have been created by the media?

It does seem like a blatant double standard, and unfair, to be spending government resources to debunk the myths on one side of a debate and not the other side.

Because there are PLENTY of pro-vaccine myths that are in many people's heads. Ideas, at least, if not logical facts they can precisely articulate.

And something I've noticed, in trying to debunk myths, organisations often say things that are not true or very misleading. So will there be adequate safeguards and checks by the other side? I am very doubtful that will ever happen.

I'd love to present people with the SCIENCE, honestly and fairly interpreted in a way that they could understand it. But is that what's actually going to happen?
Many of the pro-vaxers falsely claim to care about "the science"; they even think what they believe is "science", but it's not really. They've collectively fallen into the pit trap of endless cognitive bias.

So I'm not going to claim I have never accidently made a statement that may not have been entirely true.

Such as, when you said the FDA never approved anything that Trump supported. It's a lie. The FDA approved Remdesivir, convalescent plasma, and Regeneron, all treatments that Trump supported.

Such as, when you said that the medico-scientific community refuses to study ivermection, which is why it's not proven to work. It's a lie because I can link you to more than 80 studies on ivermectin.

Such as, when you said that a British study supported the notion that the vaccinated fare worse than the unvaccinated, when your very source does quote absolute numbers and the denominator, that is, how many Brits are vaccinated (the vast majority by now) versus how many are unvaccinated (a minority by now) so that the absolute numbers when expressed in terms of percentages showed the very opposite of what you were lying about, showing that actually the unvaccinated fared worse than the vaccinated.

You lie about vaccines. I wonder if you're paid to lie.

Well, I don't recall claiming exactly those statements that you are accusing me of making.

But I would say those statements are not entirely untrue.


I can't discuss three different issues with you. If you want to turn this thread into the subject about whether I am "spouting lies", choose one of them and I will be willing to discuss it. Maybe the British study?

The difference is, if I make a honest mistake, I acknowledge it when someone points it out, and I say I stand corrected.

This forum only allows about 10 minutes for editing posts.

Sometimes I start posting before I am finished editing my posts. Otherwise, if I take care to carefully think about and edit my posts, there will be 4 or 5 more new posts below, and my well thought out post that I actually spent effort on will sort of get buried. Harder to follow conversations within the thread.

That might explain why I seemed to edit my post in that situation.
I am never trying to be dishonest by editing my posts.

 

Yes, exactly. 15 minutes. I recall the exchange. You kept lying and editing out your posts as I was immediately quoting your lies and debunking them, all in real time, before the 15 minutes went on. You know perfectly well that this is what you did... You posted the lie about Trump, I immediately showed to you 3 drugs he supported that got approved, then you deleted that phrase from your post.

 

Because you (and many other people) seem to type and respond so fast. I'm still in the process of writing my posts for about 3 or 4 minutes after I initially post them.

Sometimes more if I am trying to look up some research to support my post.

I don't recall ever editing something in a post because you pointed out it was a lie.
On an extremely rare occasion (probably not with you) I have sometimes deleted something when someone else pointed out it was not true. I think that's the opposite of dishonesty, in that situation I would be trying not to mislead a reader with something I wrote that I have soon after realized was not true.

 

It will take a while and I'm not sure if at 00:04 AM I have the stomach to go fetch this exchange... but at some point when I have more time and I'm not about to go to sleep, I'll find you... and will demonstrate how you lie... and then you lie about having lied, LOL

I believe you genuinely believe that I am intentionally spouting lies, but I'm going to tell you that I am not aware of doing this and that is definitely not my intention.

Some of this could just be what you are interpreting.
In forum arguments I've noticed there are often two sides to the argument. There were understandable reasons why both people thought themselves to be right.

 

I'm not getting it first and foremost I don't need it, second people are demanding I get it. So no.

Why on earth would anybody who's vaccinated care about me not being vaccinated? If you are vaccinated and you believe it's a vaccine you're fine.

I've never been concerned about getting measles.

 

I can explain that. Yes it was an error. I copied both of those pictures from someone else's post in this forum, without checking them.
One of those pictures turned out to be valid, the other did not.
A moderator moved my thread into another obscure section of this forum as punishment for that, and refused to be willing to edit out the picture and move the thread back.
