    The privileges and immunities clause gives you the rights of a citizen of a state when you are in that state. I see no authority for Congress to force all states to accept the CCW permits of the other states.

    Moreover, why? Decentralized power is the enemy of all gun control efforts, which is why they're always so keen to push it to the Federal level. Let New York and California have their bull(*)(*)(*)(*) gun control such that Wyoming and Arizona can have their brilliant constitutional carry.

    No surprise.

    The "progressives" will oppose everything that Trump supports. Even if Trump proposed a gun ban - a key plank in the prog political agenda - the "progressives" will oppose it, the progs are so consumed with hatred they don't know anything else.

    Quite frequently, Blumenthal speaks before veterans groups and often discusses the problems that he and other Vietnam Vets faced when they returned to civilian life. In many occasion, he gets quite emotional about the subject and burst into tears.

    The problem is he never went to Vietnam. According to the NY Times and Washington Post, Blumenthal got five deferments between 1965 and 1970 to avoid service in Vietnam. During those years, he was able to go to Harvard and even get a job working for the Nixon administration. In 1970, when his deferments ran out, he joined the Marine Corps Reserve and served with the 4th Civil Affairs Group in Washington, D.C. The closest he got to combat in Vietnam was repairing playgrounds in southeast Washington, D.C.

    The same thing that let them force the states to recognize abortion and gay marriage. If it applies to those, and the states have no choice, then it also applies to the 2A.

    I am opposed to incorporation. I feel it was the final nail in what remained of an already heavily nationalised constitution.

    I am opposed to Roe v Wade even though I support abortion. I am opposed to Obergefell v Hodges even though I am support ending the heterosexual monopoly on legal marriage.

    Similarly, I am about as pro-gun as it gets. I support constitutional carry, straw sales, legal full automatic firearms, etc. Yet I don't support forcing this policy on the states through Federal action.

    Didn't Obama set the standard when he said it didn't make sense for some states to legalize homosexual marriage and others not too so he just pretty much said it's legal everywhere(with some actual action on his part)? Seems like we already have a precedent for reciprocity.

    I don't like the idea of the Feds getting involved with my right to carry a gun. How long until they add extra restrictions. I can already carry everywhere within 600 miles of here in the US.

    Actually, it requires a permit. It doesn't allow residents of Vermont to carry concealed in Maine without a permit. Most states that don't require permits of their own citizens in their own state do issue permits to their citizens for use out of state.

    Driver's licenses don't have minimum standards........

    I agree Congress has no authorization, but I do believe the Full Faith and Credit clause should apply on this issue. Any state licensing for anything should be temporarily (i.e during a trip) honored by the st ate the person is visiting. This is in the Full Faith and Credit clause and amplified by part of the 14th Amendment: ll persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States;

    Thugs are the danger. Right now, any gangsta can get in a car with their stolen guns and drive almost anywhere.

    Idiocy is gun control.

    Find the violent felons, take them down and punish them so they won't be doing further crimes. That is the solution.
