DeSantis Clears up Media ‘Confusion’ on School Curriculum: ‘No CRT, Sexualized Content, Transgender

Problem with "CRT" is the label and the game of hide the ball performed with it. If CRT is just an obscure legal theory taught in law school then it wouldn't matter so much.

But there is woke ideology being pushed elsewhere and that needs to be talked about. Too many try to avoid doing so by noting the sentiment of the inrelatedt paragraph above.

 

I would venture to say most people past the age of 18 would have trouble reciting the pledge. Not a very successful indoctrination going on there. But teach a child that they are the oppressor or oppressed over time will have a life long effect.

 

I am not an anarchist. I don't have a problem with laws that save lives. I do have a problem with obedience chants being pushed. The two are not equivalent.

 

Then perhaps I missed your point when you said: "It teaches obedience to authority." Enlighten me.

Yes. But one thing being worse does not make the other not bad.

And it isn't so much the words of the chant that bothers me but that it is an obedience chant. That much people do remember. It makes for a more authoritarian populace. It is not something I would expect to see in a nation valuing freedom, but one I would expect to see in the opposite.

 

The left likes being sheep. They don't even mind being fleeced by their leaders.

 

Pushing a pledge of allegiance on children teaches obedience to authority. It is one of the hallmarks of an authoritarian society.

 

We live in a country deeply divided on many issues. Thanks to those leading us. The pledge is not meant to divide us, but unite us. I can't say the same about CRT. Can you?

Kids are no longer mandated to say the pledge while at school, nor are kids pushed to say it.
Some of you are intent on making a mountain out of a molehill because DeSantis is banning a couple of things from Florida's public school curriculum.

 

I thought I included a link indicating it's not mandatory. I'm sure if the majority of parents objected to it schools would drop it like a hot potato.

Aren't they? And are they mandated to repeat CRT garbage? Is there a CRT pledge at all? Or is this just about not exposing it to them? I see a bit of a double standard here.

 

We can discuss whether or not the pledge should be done in school. There is zero benefit to students to include the content being discussed here.

Yes, the obedience chant is no longer mandated. That doesn't mean it isn't pushed.

CRT pledge doesn't exist. It isn't mandated.
That also doesn't mean CRT isn't pushed.
