In response to local anti-gun politicians using the COVID-19 crisis as a method to violate the Second Amendment rights of the American law abiding people, the US Department of Homeland Security has declared the firearm industry and distributors of firearms as a "critical infrastructure, shutting down local anti-gun bans based on the COVID-19 virus, using that excuse to shut down gun shops such as we have seen in San Francisco.

People should wait and invest that money into the market instead - much more probable their going to need it for health costs when they're older than they'll need it to shoot someone. Just say'n.

Those market investments will mean squat to someone who can't protect themselves should the need to protect oneself arises.

How will such a move ultimately be resisted, or even defied, by individual states such as California, New York, or Louisiana?

    Nonsense.

The Governors have the authority to deem gun dealers as "non-essential".

sorry, these quarantines and shelter-in-place orders are 100% run by the states and they have the authority to close and open ANY store they like.

Trump has only made recommendations. He can say tomorrow its time to reopen the economy and the States can tell him to **** off.

And then the states can be sued for violating the Second, which has happened 5 times now causing four states to back down and reopen gun and ammo shops and ranges. .
Trump didn't make the recommendations DHS did with guidance from the gun manufacturers lobby the NSSF.

However you did get one s,all part of your statement but I'm not going to mention what that was.

It appears so far Cuomo is the only governor with the balls to stand up to the AK-47 Lobby.

I expect he will continue this and the courts will be on his side.

Which has already happened. So far, not a single governor that has has won in court. Next?

Then why are there federally licensed firearm dealers currently open for business in the state of New York?

Already been done by the NSSF and a number of governors have since complied with the DHS guidelines.

    Smart decision.

A number of them have skirted the shut down order by operating from another essential location under BATF guidance.
