That "Quit Selling" was nothing more than a PR stunt by Dick's, they opened up a store here two years ago and at that time they were NOT selling Mini 14's or Ar's! They still sell Semi auto's like shot guns, handguns, and large caliber hunting rifles but their ridiculous prices pretty much killed their gun sales, here. Dicks is were you go buy $600 dollar coolers, $8 dollar lures and retarded tents that take a genius and two hours to set up and 15 seconds for mother nature to blow down :)

    Dicks BLOWS!

I took my baseball business to Academy years ago and never looked back. Academy’s gun prices are good if they carry what you are looking for.

Actually, yes it is. Both are about rights. One had a civil war fought over it and what people thought was unthinkable....happened.

Yes I have. I said most, not all. I’d still rather go to a private/independent seller for my firearm needs.

You're making assumptions. Do I write to my legislators? No. Why? Because I'm lucky enough to live in a state where you can actually talk to your legislators. I've hunted with some, dined with others. You get to actually talk to them.
    I'm doing my part.

I didn't make an assumption. I asked a question. And even if I were making an assumption I'd be correct. You just admitted that you do not write your legislators.

I get to actually talk to mine too. At least you are doing your part, I guess.

If you're really in SD I wish you a lot of luck. That state is quite red and most likely will never be one of the 38 you'll need to go after the second amendment.

So what would you personally a consider an acceptable number of child deaths each year before dogs needed to be banned. 20, 50, 100, 1000?.
And would you be prepared to explain to these parents the reason you chose that specific number?

I couldn't agree more. The big boxe stores do this well. They do at times, especially during hunting season buy large numbers of sporting weapons, usually shotguns and bolt action rifles with extremely good prices along with all the accessories for one stop shopping. They'll also pull in the guys who the impulse buyer for a handgun or AR. Dick's will lose this business during the fall.

There is no need for one to hunt this day in age, as it has been rendered obsolete by technology and corporations. Even if you live in the most rural area of America, you can make that ten-fifteen minute drive down to Walmart for your groceries. Target shooting or trophy hunting are equally as disgusting. One per person for protection is fine.

They are a accessory to the crime by manufacturing and distributing this weaponry. Not so ridiculous when you think about it.

There is no need to do many things that people do. That's not a good point.

No it isn't and 15 guns per person just because they think they look cool is perfectly fine.

Hiring gun control lobbyists is a dead giveaway to the company bias

So then are knife manufactures, pressure cooker manufactures, rope manufactures, vehicle manufactures, jet liner manufactures, etc. since all those items have been used in killing of innocent people.

See how ridiculous your statement is?

This post shows you to be massively uninformed about rural life, hunting, and firearm use.

Are they like me and prefer AK-47s?

I’m sure if Dick’s sticks to the Big Blue Cities selling yoga mats and overpriced running shoes to Yuppies and Soccer Moms that they’ll survive.

I don't hunt & like many gun owners agree that trophy hunting (aka canned hunting) is disgusting. I do, however see the need to reduce the extensive deer population in our rural area as overpopulation of deer is responsible for deer-auto collisions & the spread of disease in deer population.
However, at the same time, I enjoy watching the deer in our front field from my office window.
Meanwhile, there are many compassionate hunters who donate venison to Food Banks for the hungry & homeless (i.e. "Hunters for the Hungry")

I am curious as to how you or anyone else could find target and other forms of competitive shooting "disgusting" unless you have an irrational fear of firearms.

Pretty sure competitiveness isn't at the top of the list within the leftist pen as long as the trough stays full and free :)
