You have a delusion about gods that you are welcome to hold. If you can't show they exist, you don't know they exist.
I believe in the soul. I think we are all souls. Our bodies are sortof an environmental suit that allows our soul to experience a finite, mortal state in this physical existence. This experience is somehow necessary for our spiritual developement. At least, thats how I see it so far. I like to keep an open mind to knew possibilities.
“I’ve been to the other side and let me tell you, son, there’s ******* nothing there. There’s no one waiting there for you… there’s no one to judge you so you can do what you bloody well like.” - Kerry Packer after being clinically dead for 6 minutes when he suffered a heart attack in 1990, on being asked about an after-life experience. I concur with Kerry.
There is evidence of Gods existence. Atheists play this game where they pretend it does not exist either.
I will now ask again that you provide this evidence, you will avoid doing so through multiple tactics and we will again be left with the nothing we have had for 2000 years. All there is would be a book written long ago and edited, revised and rewritten hundreds of times by and for men that says it is real. Now...prove me wrong and get your Nobel Prize...PLEASE!
Well, there has to be agreement on some things before a productive discussion can be had. So far all I have seen is people talking past one another. Not productive.
No agreement is required for you to answer my question about your claim? Tactic #1~ Distract Tactic #2 ~ Switch the subject.
Sure there is. What do you consider evidence? What would you consider "God"? These are required to be able to have a productive discussion. Because atheists refuse to accept evidence and they sure as heck will not describe what they would consider "God" to be.
Well, might be able to do it in a thread but there is alot of info. I do not know if you would be able to understand it.
YOU are the one being asked these questions and to provide the Evidence you claim. Tactic #1 ~ Distract Tactic #2 ~ Switch the subject. Tactic #3 ~ Throw question back.
Exactly and I am trying to understand what you consider evidence and what you consider a God would be. I know that atheists love to keep that open so they can move the goal posts. There is no reason to even discuss it if that is the case. What are you afraid of?
And apparently some people believe that if they kill innocent people, they will be rewarded in heaven with 70 virgins... and they will tell me the same thing you tell me. “Boy, I wouldn’t want to be you” So where is the difference between a jihadists imagined paradise and your imaginened paradise? They both are good stories designed to manipulate credulous believers
Evidence would consist of ANYTHING other than Opinion or Ancient literature. Tactic #1 ~ Distract Tactic #2 ~ Switch the subject. Tactic #3 ~ Throw question back. Tactic #4 ~ Accuse others of moving the Goalpost while doing so. I do not have fear...apparently YOU DO.
There is no fear here. I just do not care to waste my time and effort on a discussion that is nonproductive.
Tactic #1 ~ Distract Tactic #2 ~ Switch the subject. Tactic #3 ~ Throw question back. Tactic #4 ~ Accuse others of moving the Goalpost while doing so. Tactic #5 ~ Quit trying, Run away, and try to pretend success. Here we end as Usual with absolutely no Evidence for God.
I think the latter question depends very much on the former. I think there are many who, when they say soul, refer to some combination of personality and essence of personhood, and such a soul I might agree to. Others will refer to, basically a physical object (albeit an intangible one) and that I might disagree with. I don't have a problem of talking about the soul in the former sense, even though it might not be the traditional understanding of a soul. I think some non-religious people have a kneejerk reaction against certain words which are traditionally supernatural, so that they may incorrectly reject them, even when the words are used to describe perfectly mundane patterns.
One point at a time is better and possibly more manageable for us lesser beings. I await for your pearls to be cast.
