President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is slashing television spending in the Midwest, canceling millions of dollars in advertising in states that carried him to victory in 2016.

He’s been off the local airwaves completely in Iowa and Ohio. The campaign also has given up at least $2 million worth of reservations in both Michigan and Wisconsin since early September. And in Minnesota, a state Trump almost won four years ago and has expressed confidence in flipping, his team already has chopped about $5 million from its projected fall TV budget.

    So?

How exactly does Trump plan on getting to 270 Electoral Votes if he is pulling out of the Midwest?

This is even MORE EVIDENCE (in a sea of negative events for his campaign) that Trump has (already) CONCEDED the Election.

His last ditch (desperation) hope is going to be some sort of epically failed effort to contest mail-in ballots in Court.

Are you surprised that Trump is (essentially) conceding the Midwest?

    Yes, he's out of money.

That's what happens when you blow up $60 million in legal fees to prevent justice from seeing your tax return and you get $40 million stolen by your campaign manager.

He may think it's not necessary since he won their vote last time. Nevertheless, it does sound like he is cash poor.

Maybe he is being fiscally responsible. Why spend the money if it is not needed?

Cash poor should not be an excuse for a man who is as rich as he claims to be.
    There are several possibilities
1 they are so confident of victory they don’t think the need to spend the money
2 they are so certain he will lose there’s no point spending the money
3 they want to spend the money but they don’t have it. Trump can’t or won’t spend it himself.

Personally I don’t believe that he would choose not to spend the money if he could afford it and he thought it would help.

I'm not saying he's cash poor. I'm not his accountant. I am saying that he is acting like someone who is cash poor.

I am not sure that Trump has a strategy. People seem to overlook that he was in the private sector business world. He isn't used to being told "no" or held accountable for his mistakes. He just doesn't know HOW to handle it and that shows.

If true, why would he be so concerned about voting fraud? Why did he say that he wouldn't accept the results unless he won? I'm not discounting your theory. I am just not sure that meshes with his words and actions.

Sounds fiscally responsible. As there is nothing but speculation it could be as simple as paring down time slots that don't reach his target demographics, fear of oversaturation, or increased local PAC ads with targeted regional issues. Plenty of legitimate reasons, none of which fit the liberal doom and gloom narrative...

He likes the attention he gets from the campaign trail a lot more than he likes spending the money or doing the work to actually win. he's addicted to the feeling he gets from the deplorables in his rallies, but he does not like the responsibilities of the office.

It has to be hard for him because he's used to be surrounded by "yes" men (and women) in his private businesses. Being held accountable is a tough gig for him.

If the world were truly just, Donald Trump would be hocking 17-year-old Hyundais in a vacant Bronx lot and Sean Spicer would be his mascot on the sidewalk, holding a “No Credit, No Problem” sign, dressed in a giraffe costume....

It would be nice if he would spend the rest of his years holding rallies where he and his fans can shake their fist at the skies and commiserate how they were robbed of certain victory in 2020. And then they'll reminisce about that most glorious day of their lives in November 2016.

You and I might like that scenario a lot more than the GOP will like it . The GOP is in for a total bloodbath between establishment candidates, and the trump wing of the party in primary elections across this country. I don't think they will be thrilled hearing Trump rallies with all those deplorables in their MAGA hats shaking their fists at the skies, run by the former President.

A sitting president can't be indicted. A president can only pardon Fed crimes. The NYAG is waiting for Trump's presidential privileges to expire before nailing him. Thus he needs to stay president and a pardon by Pence wouldn't save him. Doesn't mean he WANTS to get reelected but it's the only way to stay free. I wouldn't be shocked if he wins, has Pence invoke the 25th and then just disappears, safe from prosecution becuase he's still POTUS in this situation as he'd still be alive making pence ACTING President only.

Wow. That's an elaborate scheme. I could see him trying to get that accomplished. I'm curious though. What difference does it make since he can't be elected for a term if he wins this one? Wouldn't he be facing the same indictments by the NY-AG in 2024?
