Donald Trump Rally In Chicago Canceled Amid Security Fears

CHICAGO -- A Donald Trump rally that attracted thousands to the University of Illinois at Chicago was abruptly canceled Friday night amid security fears, sparking fights between the candidate's fans and anti-Trump protesters.

The rally was called off about a half-hour after the scheduled 6 p.m. start time, after thousands of Trump fans and anti-Trump protesters packed into the free event, which required online registration. Thousands more gathered outside, surrounded by a police perimeter, and people became more vocal as the starting time approached.

Fighting broke out when the cancelation was announced, according to media reports from inside the pavilion.

“I have never seen anything like it. It’s amazing,” CNN’s Jim Acosta said. The network said approximately 8,500 people were at the rally.

Trump's events in recent days, including one earlier Friday in St. Louis, have featured numerous instances of violence. Trump has encouraged supporters to attack protesters, saying they should "hit back" more often.

The St. Louis rally featured intense confrontations between protesters and Trump supporters. It led to at least one injury and 32 arrests.

Trump said later on CNN he had "no regrets" about his tough talk, including a remark that protesters, in the old days, would be "carried out on stretchers."

"You can't even have a rally anymore in this country," Trump complained on MSNBC shortly after the Chicago cancelation. He added: “There’s a lot of anger in the country, and it’s very sad to see.”

In a subsequent appearance on Fox News, Trump told Greta Van Susteren it was "a good decision" to cancel the rally.

"I am a unifier," he said, even though thousands had gathered at the event to protest him.

Looks like everybody has had enough of Donald and his thugs he calls supporters, and this is long overdue as far as I'm concerned.

Looks like people are tired of being pushed around by these people, and they've completely had it.

I hope this keeps happening at all of his events from now on.

 

Ridiculous analysis.....but typical of the liberal mindset. Let me now lay out the truth......a generation of black youths have been radicalized....this was made clear last summer when they would seize on any excuse to engage in violence. This insurrection....which is what it actually is...was enabled and provoked by the media.

Last summer was just a indicator of where we are now headed....blacks are mobilizing across the nation to riot, loot and burn. They care not for Donald Trump one way or the other....they want trouble, they want violence............they understand now the power they have and they are willing to destroy America in order to demonstrate it.

They also know they have a friend in the white house....one he may very well declare martial law and postpone elections.

People should have seen this coming...but most people do not read message boards...........it has been quite evident for a long time now to anyone who does that we have huge racial problems...this was made clear by the overwhelming popularity of any post dealing with race....the message boards are the only place where most have any opportunity to speak out and both sides have....black and white...and the irreconciable differences have been made quite clear.

 

Most of the people showed up came to protest. More people than ever are rejecting the ignorance, fear, and stupidity that the trump campaign represents. Proud of Chicago today.

 

This is the sort of non-thinking that has enabled the blm and all the other examples of black violence and of course the readicalization of the black youth. Those of you who do not like Trump have the opportunity to express yourselves at the ballot box...you do not have the right to engage in violence.

Unfortunately.....the only way to stop the violence now will be with force. You can expect martial law in some if not most of our big cities this summer.

 

Trump lied again. He said that the police advised him to cancel the event and the police confirmed that they never did any such thing. Rachel Maddow interviewed people that cannot understand why Trump chose this particular venue. He deliberately incited violence and once the crowd was hyped and many already in the venue...THE TRUMP CAMP CALLED IT OFF FOR THE VISUAL EFFECTS. Smoke and mirrors from the carnival barker...step right up hurry hurry.

 

Anyone decent, educated and intelligent would be deeply ashamed to be associated with those so called protesters who acted like animals and mere hooligans. But hey, morons are usually proud of what normal people are ashamed of.

 

There were just as many white people protesting as blacks, so save blaming BLM for all your failures in life.

People who advocate for this are simply parasites in a free society. An organized mob of people designed to intimidate is not what decent people want. Parasites are not decent people.

They will attempt to use Trump as a scapegoat...but it will not wash with the majority population who have been arming themselves at a un-precedented rate because last summer demonstrated quite clearly where we are headed this coming summer....racial war...and even still some will reject that....yet it will be seen this summer.

The real question is whether obama will declare martial law....if enough force is put into play early....these protests could be squashed...but I do not think the White House wants to put a stop to this racial violence.....they want to use it to their advantage.

I was watching on TV the protest this morning. My 7 year old daughter asked me 'What are they doing?'

I replied 'Donald Trump is a very very bad man and they do not want him to talk in their city'
