Our first act of war will be a take over of all your Popsicle factories. And this will happen at the start of summer and it will be thanks to global warming, a literal HELL For Americans who refuse to bow down to their new masters.

Latvia and the Ukraine will be disappointed when Canada's help is two Mounties in a canoe.

If a once fine Canada persists in imaging that Progressivism is a recipe for glory (purely because you've had it so easy up until now ... they're like small Pollyanna children), this 'panic' as you refer to it, will visit as assuredly as it does in any place where sensible people are compelled to snuggle up to some ivory tower dweller's boredom induced fantasy of one big nummy rainbow hued world.

Also, Canada is fast becoming recognised (really, if you don't believe this, do some research) for it's new and potentially dangerous flirtation with totalitarianism. See Bill C-16. Canada might once have actually been liberal, but apparently Justin prefers a North Korean approach to liberty.

That's good to know. You have a country to be proud of. Distance yourselves from us, politically, a bit for the next four years so you don't get any of the Trump slime on you. And remember that the majority of Americans HATE the dirtbag who managed to cheat and lie his way into our White House. We'll get rid of this giant turd as soon as possible.

Populism didn't work in the UK, either. At all. Brits are notoriously resistant to it. Yet ... Brexit.

Anyway, since when is Progressive populism somehow not populism? Do Progs imagine they're immune, because they're so intelligent? They think that when THEY do populism, it's special and different? Ever heard the term 'snowflake'?

Canada has nuclear weapons. Thus a world power. And with the US being its' primary trading partner, an economic power as well.

Yet, here you are, on here 24/7 talking about the US and being obsessed by it. Like an American wannabe...why is that? We certainly don't aspire to be like Canada....

I have a lot of respect for Canada. Indeed neither of our countries would be the prosperous wonders of the world if it were not for our peaceful border and harmonious relationship.

The U.S. is not about to become a "rogue" nation. Trump will learn soon enough that doing business with the Russians is easier said than done. The people in government are not men of their word. Never have been except maybe under Gorbachev and Yeltsin. As far as "a lot more goodwill and influence" and power through "pragmatism and diplomacy" that has never worked. Just because diplomats can course the corridors of the U.N. without flipping their bird at each other, get along at a cocktail party and not fart in fellow diplomats' faces does not mean that diplomats solve anything. Most countries want to win; they don't want "resolutions." Exhibit "A" on that was Versailles, Exhibit "B" the U.N. Charter. What war has the U.N. successfully mediated?
You don't find Justin Trudeau quite convincing and intimidating? Maybe as a social worker he'll whine at them in a convincing manner.

Trump may find it easier to do business with Russia than the US. The black hats in intelligence by leaking stories to corporate media in direct opposition to Trump will not make it easy. The white hats that know things are wrong, at this time are silenced like the NSA that did not agree with the CIA's high confidence in the report on Russia. Right now many entrenched operatives in government are extremely worried about their positions with Trump's threat to drain the swamp but if we want our country back, the swamp needs draining badly.

This is the funniest thread I've read in a while, thanks for the laughs.

Cdnpoli, I can't tell if you're joking or being serious. Maybe both in different posts? Anyway, if you can wipe out South Park, maybe a Canadian invasion won't be that bad. Unfortunately for you, someone's remark about Texas is all too true, we've got more rednecks than you have armed forces, and our rednecks are better armed than your armed forces, so any Canadian invasion would quickly turn into an annexation of Canada by the US.

Seriously, though, the world isn't interested in your globalization fantasies, the eastern nations and the Muslims are interested in world domination and are perfectly willing to use your silly policies against you, to invade and take over. SOME people are waking up to this fact. The right knew it all along. I'm willing to bet (not money since I don't have any) that the world is going to be a lot happier with a strong and determined US than it has been with the weak and ineffectual Obama.

You know if it were remotely practical and I did not have kids to share with an ex. I would be moving up your way. I do not know this country I live in anymore. By the way, you guys did not get caught waterboarding anyone in the last twenty five years, did you? I lose interest pretty fast in states that justify torture as an expression of national security policy. I am kind of picky about that and it would be a waste of money if I did feel like I was living in a civilized state.
