I've seen the typical cries of "America is lost" now that Obama has been re-elected. Lots of posters here are grieving over some expected death of the country. So I pose this question to all those who feel that way: what would you need to see within a year, or even two, to make you rethink the idea that Obama will somehow ruin this country?

As an example, someone who thinks the economy will tank because of Obama might say that they will have been proven wrong if unemployment is under 5% by January 2014. I know that would be super optimistic, but it's just an example.

So, anyone want to put down a stake in the sand right now and be ready to either eat crow or gloat in a year depending on the result? No excuses. No claims of "well, it was really these guys that made this happen." Plain and simple, you're weeping for the country right now because of this one event. Will you draw a line and validate (or not) your melodramatics in a year or two's time?

Personally, I think everything will be fine. But I'll say right now that if we have one quarter of negative GDP growth before November 2014, then I'll agree with the folks saying Obama's re-election is bad for the economy.
