I remember vividly when I went to a busy restaurant to pick up my lunch for a client to be eaten as a working lunch at his business. I was confused how the process worked and people I accosted for help hurried off saying they would get somebody to me. Feeling lost and almost in tears, a young man who had been filling condiments and watching my dilemma, came up to offer his help. He had Downs syndrome and was obviously slow but he found someone, and dragged her out from the back, determined to get me what I needed. So..I will never forget that. A ray of sunshine in a dark cold land.

I have a family member who has DS, and I had also worked with DS kids in a work capacity, and as a respite volunteer.

If people who do not have DS, could truly see through their eyes for just one day, they would see a whole different world. A clear view without bias or delusion.

It's a life changing event to spend time with a DS kid. Everyone should do it.

Barely anyone in Iceland born within the last 20 years has Down syndrome, but that eradication isn't the result of any new breakthrough medical treatments...

I don't think this video needs an introduction.
