Another example of neural-linguistic programming - 'Say it often enough, keep saying it, and eventually it'll become ingrained into their brains.' And all in the name and the mindless rituals of effing 'religion'!

Murray, when will you realize that Muslim immigration is one of the tools neoliberalism uses to alienate and disempower the working class?
    I disagree.

It strikes at the heart of global capitalism.

global capitalism has no "heart". it's the ****ing borg. it can assimilate basically everything.

furthermore, segregating countries through hard borders to solve global capitalism is essentially the same thing as seeking a bantustan solution to apartheid. capitalism has an innate tension between a need to keep cheap labor close and a need to keep it distant enough for the comfort of bourgies. the same tension motivates patrilineal exogamy, the ancient basis of capital accumulation. trying to turn "back" to nationalism is essentially turning the clock back a minute and expecting the hand never to return to where it was

Attacking global capitalism with soft borders is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline. Global capitalism loves free movement of capital, goods and labor. Why do you think both parties here support it?

That's because capital is a deterritorializing force. It destroys old relations and borders. The state is a reterritorializing force that fills the ensuing vacuum in a way amenable to capital. The revolutionary project is to accelerate deterritorialization in order to destroy more power relations.

I'm fairly convinced that the only way out of capitalism is through. We're in a fundamentally transformative period. We may not even be human anymore when it's over.

And I'm inclined to believe the way is back. The environment is fragile, the infrastructure is fragile, the politics are fragile. It is all just waiting to collapse. Then we are back in the dark ages. The survivalists may yet have the last laugh. I know there is a low key movement among conservative Christians to ride out the coming storm. Perhaps Christianity will once again pull Western Civilizations chestnuts out of the fire.

It's far too late for that. The Siberian Permafrost is melting. There's massive amounts of greenhouse gasses that were trapped under there, and the more it melts, the more are released, the more it melts, etc. The shifting habitable zone of the earth will result in mass migration and more destruction of pretty much all traces of the old global order.

I believe that is the intent of rulers like Erdowan. He is a clear and present danger IMO, and others like him. The world doesn't need people like that. We cannot afford them.

Perhaps. But I think a that God fearing and well armed rural people (i.e. Trump supporters) could survive. Certainly they could do so longer than gender-bending hipster revolutionaries.

The very wealthy might also survive if they have the foresight to make preparations.

Another scenario: there is no catastrophe, all labor is automated and these very wealthy people start to wonder why all these useless humans are around ...

Absolutely. But we Americans have to at least entertain the possibility of a hopeful future.

BTW, I looked up Nick Land and found this quote:

"Consider only the fundamental doctrine or first article of the liberal creed, as promulgated through every public discussion, academic articulation, and legislative initiative relevant to the topic: Race doesn’t exist, except as a social construct employed by one race to exploit and oppress another. Merely to entertain it is to shudder before the awesome majesty of the absolute, where everything is simultaneously its precise opposite, and reason evaporates ecstatically at the brink of the sublime."

Yeah, Nick Land is well known for having a breakdown around 2007, becoming incredibly racist, moving to Shanghai, and radically changing his views. "Kant, Capital, and the Prohibition of Incest" is from his earlier days. He now disowns all of his previous work, saying that it "Belongs in the clawed embrace of the undead amphetamine god" and attributing it to the demon Vaaung. It's wild that the same man also wrote the words "Meltdown has a place for you as a schizophrenic HIV+ transsexual chinese-latino stim-addicted LA hooker with implanted mirrorshades and a bad attitude. Blitzed on a polydrug mix of K-nova, synthetic serotonin, and female orgasm analogs, you have just iced three Turing cops with a highly cinematic 9mm automatic" while describing his vision of the future in his past.

That said, just because he has unsavory views now doesn't mean I disown everything he ever wrote. Hell, he's still a brilliant man, despite the many things I disagree with him on.

Yes, I am enjoying his "Dark Enlightenment" essay very much. I suspect that your "breakdown" is actually a "breakthrough" and that radical leftism becomes radical rightism after a while.

Here's another quote from the same essay:

[discussing the American Revolution (independence) and the Civil War (emancipation).]

"If independence is the ideology of slave-holders, emancipation requires the programmatic destruction of independence. Within a cross-coded history, the realization of freedom is indistinguishable from its abolition."

I don't dispute it, but Erdowan in a 'here today, gone tomorrow' issue, whereas radical Islamists won't stop until they've achieved what they want, ie the global spread of the religion.

So much for you bringing up that Dutch source, and so much for accepting the version of a hate site.
