She should have distanced herself from Obama from the beginning. And she should have handled her emails better. And she shouldn't have alienated half of the country with her false accusations of racism and misogyny and whatever else to try and stir up her uneducated base. And she should have structured her campaign around what she would do, and not structure her campaign around bashing Trump and his supporters. And she should have realized that women vote with more than just their uterus. And she should have realized that some of us are smart enough to know that freebies aren't free.

This campaign was hers to lose. I would have voted for her in 2008. I couldn't do it this time.

Excellent well thought out points. I wish I could post more likes. If there was no server there would be no Comey, pure and simple. But one fact Democrats and pollsters failed or refused to see is this loss was, didn't matter Hillary or Bernie, has been in the making since the 2010 elections when Obama wasn't on the ballot and democrats lost over 900 seats across the country. People are mad.

Correct, there's no such thing as women's issues because all issues are women's issues.

I agree and I have said many times here that Hillary put the loose of the Emails around her own neck. It was an act of stupidity not criminality but Trumpeizda coukd and did spin it as a criminal act. Once the aura of criminality was established it was bought by the voters, albeit a false accusation it became real to voters when she was accused of reaping personal profit from the Clinton foundation. That is how a lie becomes the "truth" in the minds of the voters.

I think it's very possible that Hillary was crying. If you watch the 3rd debate where Trump brings up the fact that Hillary hired people to incite violence at his rallies, you will notice that when the camera goes back to Hillary, she is trying very hard not to cry.

she got the most votes, Trump barely won.... so while she lost it wasn't as huge a loss as your making it out to be... most voters preferred Hillary, that is a fact... but that is not how we elect Presidents

"some of us are smart enough to know that freebies aren't free."

yes, those tax loophole freebees for the rich are not free, we know that.....

I didn't say it was a huge loss. A loss is a loss anyhow. I stand behind my previous post. If she done any of those things - even one - perhaps that might have pushed her into victory lane.

I do not agree that distancing herself from Obama woudl of helped her win.... she lost because dems had 6 million less people vote... simple as that

I also think many thought why bother voting, Hillary was gonna win anyways..... every vote always counts, if you do not get out and vote, it's a vote for the other side... always

many young Bernie voters did not bother voting, that helped trump win, Trump thanks those Bernie supporters......

Hillary also got the most of the low information voters votes which accounts for 1/3 of the votes cast.

Well, it would have helped her get my vote. A college-educated business-owning female independent voter in a swing state.

I guess you think 18-25 year olds and poor black and Hispanic voters are the high information voters

Many of those ANGRY Bernie supporters did vote . . . for anyone BUT Hillary Clinton; just like Hillary supporters were warned would happen. She and the DNC treated them like crap, and they returned the favor. Sweet!

yes, I agree with you... Republicans pulled together in the end, democrats did not, so republicans won

were split 50\50, that is why trump would not denounce the kkk even, he doesn't like the kkk, but every vote counted......

I'm not big on polls... That being said, where are you all getting this information about exit polling, and is exit polling generally believed to be accurate? I've never participated in any type of poll in my life, so perhaps I should apologize for my naivete. But among other things, I can't imagine that they actually asked people if they're low-information voters, and the people would respond 'yes'? Or is it an assumption tied to college education? (In which case I would not necessarily agree that non-college-educated equals low information.) Anyhow, just some things going through my mind reading this thread...

Ok well, that's funny. But in all seriousness, I would have voted for her in 2008. I didn't feel that Hillary 2016 was the same person as Hillary 2008, but perhaps my memory of the 2008 Hillary is poor or my standards have risen.
