Scientists in Denmark have discovered a vaccine to combat the most widespread "hive killer" called "American Foulbrood" a bacterial disease.

The concept is the queen is fed the vaccine pathogen over a period of a week or so and the pathogens are passed onto the eggs. The pathogens induce "responses for future immune responses".

Positive news for threatened bees and their keepers everywhere.

This is the first time we have been able to immunize insects, which is kinda cool considering they dont' have immune systems.
