El Paso, TX (More guns than people) is safer than NYC, DC, or Chicago.

I live in el paso is it one of the safest city in the country but that doesnt mean we do not have crime. There has been one case this year where a convicted murder attacked a lawyer outside his office to steal his car. Well the Convicted murder didn't know that the lawyer was a CHL holder and was armed killed the criminal in self defense and didn't become a stat. So you dont know what your talking about and your just being an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)

Um..... nope. That does not prove that guns protect peoples rights. There are quite a few countries were people are barred from owning guns, and the enjoy essentially the same freedoms as us.

I'm sure the Black Panthers are very glad the 2d Amendment is there to protect their right to protest as they saw fit.

I don't agree with the black panthers on many issues but I am proud they have the rights to protect themselves. Gun contol always effect the poor an minority's first. That because it scares the elite and intellectual crowd. They disarm us first then control us. 100 black panthers with weapons is much more intimidating and effective. Than 1,000 occupy whatever in some excrement covered enclosure. Waiting on the police to gas an arrest them.

why wouldnt a border town in America be one of the safest places? If you are going to sneak onto someones property to do crimes, are you going to walk right up to the front door with video cameras, armed guards, alarm systems, and a German Shepperd/??...No,your going to sneak around the alley, hop the fence with all the shrubs, covering your movements, then maybe pop a window on the side of the house... Illegals arent going to walk right up to El Paso with everyone and their grandma lookin, they have the whole country behind the city.Which they are trying to avoid at all costs.

What separates El Paso from Juarez besides a line on a map?

They speak the same language, practice the same religion, have the same color skin, eat the same delicious food, and cross back and forth over the same border daily in many cases(sometimes with illegal drugs or cash from their sale).

Why is Juarez overran with violence while El Paso is much safer?

I would imagine there is less corruption in the law enforcement. (Why is that?)

There is less poverty in El Paso.(Why is that?)

There aren't many differences between the two cities. One of these differences has to be the deciding factor.

My vote for the difference is the abundance of armed victims acting as a deterrent.

Sure, Texans are driving to Chicago, DC, Detroit, Philadelphia, LA, and committing all the crimes, then driving home and living law abiding lives. Does that even come close to making any kind of sense?

New Mexico is the only other state near El Paso. If legal El Paso gun owners are leaving the state to commit crimes, New Mexico would be overran with crime. There aren't many more people in the whole state of New Mexico than there are in El Paso.

Something is making a huge difference between Juarez and El Paso. I have listed 3 differences. I'm sure there are others, but which difference makes the biggest difference in crime between the 2 cities if it's not legally armed citizens?

It's 1500 miles from El Paso to Chicago. Do the math.

I've been all over El Paso at all hours of the night. It's odd that nobody speaks English until they are speaking to you, but I've never felt unsafe there. The military bases are the language exception. I've even had to order in Spanish at a place called "El Nido" near I-10 and Geronimo. The waiter didn't speak a word of English.

I wonder if the lack of crime is because there is no racial element to the crime. Either almost everyone is hispanic or in certain areas it is a military community. With America being a "melting pot", is crime being exaggerated by racism? That still wouldn't explain the difference between El Paso and Juarez.
