Electoral College Revolt Growing Into 'Powerful Show of Force'

Its sad that when half the country doesn't approve, we view that as "favorable".

Considering the fact that the electoral college just allowed for the election of exactly what it was intended to prevent it is perhaps time to remove it from use.

 

Yep. They just can't seem to accept that Hillary lost for legitimate reasons. They just have to believe that it was the alleged Russian hackers and James Comey who caused Hillary to lose.

Nope, the electoral college worked perfectly and Trump won the Geographic U.S......It prevented L.A. and NY from controlling the whole country. Exactly as intended.

As far as the left is concerned, Hillary was a 'shoo-in'....Now they are gob-smacked and butt hurt because the Geographic U.S. did not agree with their L.A. and NY far left destructive policies. Poor little libbies.....Their panties are all in a wad. It's funny watching them come unhinged.

 

We have a majoritarian system of government. The executive - the Prime Minister - is appointed through a vote of MPs rather than the public themselves. If a majority of the lower house find confidence in an MP, then he becomes the leader. Do we have a system of election by elites? Many parliamentarian nations have a similar mechanism.

What would you do if you tried to adapt this system to a separated executive? Maybe have the same number of MPs perform the same function, but have them be elected separately to the legislature, purely for the purpose of electing the executive - and make it winner takes all at the state rather than local electorate level. Hey wait a minute, doesn't that sound like the electoral college?

 

L.A. and N.Y. are the vanguard of the nation !! You really want some backwater-town in Mississippi with one outhouse per 100,000 people to be determining the destiny of this nation???

 

This is such a false argument. If the point was to win the popular vote, both candidates would have vastly campaigned differently. Two things happened. Hillary thought she had it all in the bag and gave up on the small states and kept campaigning for a state she ALREADY HAD (CA), while Trump campaigned for ELECTORAL votes which is what wins you an election.

L.A. and NY (as well as a few larger population centers (like Chicago) are liberal sewers where gangs rule, American traditions are trashed, the American flag is burned, the Mexican flag is proudly flown, children are encouraged to question their own gender, kids are taught that humans are inherently bad and global warming is a 'science' while providing absolutely no proof....L.A. and NY (And Washington D.C.) champion politicians that take advantage of young girls and tell US that sex is not really sex. And that 'he never had sex with that woman' when he actually did!!!! Hey libbies...That's called a LIE!!!! It is really amazing just how monolithic most lefties are. Libbies always mess in their own backyard and then point the finger of blame at the neighbor while, at the same time, completely ignoring their support system which is the rest of US. Funny, we in the south are living in relative peace and prosperity. We even have indoor toilets, and bathe at least once a week. We are also taking your jobs because we still think a person should earn a living.
