Electric vehicle battery factory will require so much energy it needs a coal plant to power it!

Sure. I and others concede that that is the single reasonably decent use case for an EV. No load commuting or going to the grocery store.

But anything else is better served by an ICE.

And few folks can afford a relatively useless second vehicle.

And yet America is still the land of the two vehicle family. As I said earlier though the real impact will be “micro mobility”. Especially in places like NY where you could ride your scooter to the subway hop the train then ride to the destination. We are already seeing this revolution. Imagine taking larger cars off of city streets? Does it make any real sense that we are driving overpowered bigger than required fir purpose cars short distances? Think about the saving in parking! Asia is actually the real market for this

Possibly. However, that should be up to the people who live there. The current trajectory of the government forcing adoption of EVs can only fail horribly.

Government is lousy when it comes to running economies.

It is happening! The final changeover will probably not even be in our lifetime but it is coming. This will be like the change from landlines to mobile phones

I doubt that's true since you routinely demonstrate lack of familiarity with how the site works.

Then I guess I can safely continue to ignore it completely.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with energy providers participating in the public discourse on climate and energy. The only thing noteworthy about your citations is the theatrical hand-wringing.
And remember: Exxon shared and/or published all their research, and actively participated in the IPCC. Your position is mere propaganda tub-thumping.
Remember also: Oil companies have routinely defeated "they knew" lawsuits by citing the IPCC's own statements of uncertainty.
