When is heterosexuality NOT celebrated? It's the default position for most of the year. It's been that way for thousands of years. Are you afraid that if they share the spotlight a few days a year, the world will end? Get over it.

When has it been, has this school had a celebrate heterosexuality month and flag? Can you point me to any such celebrations? Why can't we heterosexuals get the spotlight for just one month and have the children get a balanced view.

Dude - 90% of all movie and television characters are heterosexual. Almost all the people in history books are heterosexual. The vast majority of teachers are heterosexual. The majority of advertising features heterosexual actors and the majority of sports stars are heterosexual. Kids are surrounded by heterosexual imaging 24/7. And you complain about a "balanced" view? Really?

So what, this is about a celebration of that just like this celebration of homosexuality, let's be equal about it. And they are surrounded by homosexuality too, just watch network prime time or go to the movie. Why do you oppose also a month to celebrate heterosexuality too?

Heterosexuality IS the default position. It's always running in the background. Why are you so threatened by a week a year having a flag in a classroom?
Why are you scared to share the spotlight? The gay population has been pretty constant at 2 - 5% of any given human population - why are you worried? A flag isn't going to change sexual orientation.

And for every gay character in a TV show or movie - there will be 10 non-gay characters. Why are you freaking out about this?

 

The law you are referring to legally restricted Jewish people from serving as teachers or judges. The story in your article isn't even an established law, but a school board motion. School boards pass compulsory motions all the time, but they hold no legal binding

 

Really. Where is your case law to cite that states any of those schools can refuse? I'd love to see it.

And the German law did exactly what this is doing. Subjugating one viewpoint over others through the law.

 

You're not understanding, a school board motion is when representatives of every school within a district/community come to an agreement to pass a new policy. These school policies are.. well.. school policies. Take for example a dress code, while the dress code in itself is compulsory, it carries no legal authority. Meaning there is no legal penalty for violating the policy. Heck, when I was in high school they restricted teachers and students from wearing hats with team logos on them. It's kind of like when a company passes their own policies


In this particular instance, a school board unanimously passed a policy to put a flag up during any given week during the month of June. This does not compare to when Germany passed a law restricting Jewish people from serving as teachers or judges throughout the country.

 

So I take it you have no evidence to support your claim that it isn't legally binding for the school to refuse. That's all you had to say.

And to take your dress code example a student who violates it will most likely be sent home so to state there is no repercussions isn't being hoenst about the situation.

And yes they did use the law to subjugate others just like the German example. Both used the law to push a singular point of view onto others by using the government to do it

Well that's just you and you wife, homosexuals can do that too. This is about a public group celebration showing how we are all proud to be heterosexuals. You said something about scared, why does that scare you?

 

Go for it. You spend the time, money and mental energy that gays had to expend to get to the point where they could hang a flag in a school ... nobody is stopping you from trying. But I know you won't. It's too much effort on your part.

No, they did not use/pass a new law, they passed a school board policy to put a flag up on any given week during the month of June. That doesn't compare to passing a law forbidding Jewish people from being teachers or judges

Every elementary school in Ontario, Canada, will be forced to fly the gay pride flag for at least one week in June, which is Pride Month in the province.

First, perhaps we can change the wording from 'forced' to 'required'...big difference. The province has already set aside a month to support LGBTQ community, and they are requiring schools to participate. Why is this such a bad thing?
