Elizabeth Warren Commemorates ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Monday commemorated “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” in place of Columbus Day and claimed America has a “long and painful” history of mistreating Native Americans.

The DC Council approved of the “Indigenous Peoples’ Day Emergency Declaration Act of 2019” last week, which temporarily replaces Columbus Day with “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” in the city this year.

She may be a fake indian but she really loves virtue signalling to others.

In addition to faking her ancestry-she took a teaching job that would have gone to an actual Native American.

Ironically-her own ancestors actually forced the Cherokee out of their homelands via the trail of tears.

 

She also lied about being fired for being pregnant...

 

Good. We should stop celebrating Columbus Day and replace it with Indigenous Peoples' Day.

 

I like that show, but everyone for the last half millennia or so is in the bad place.

But Columbus definitely deserves the bad place.

They finally get off their obstructionist asses and this is what they decided to waste time on? And as an "emergency declaration" no less?

And they wonder why sane middle-of-the-road folks think they're as ridiculous as a soup sandwich.

 

I feel like he gets a bad rap these days.

 

The could be working together to raise GDP, lower drug prices, etc-but this is what they decide to do.

Not sure groups being at war with each other justifies rape and genocide from a third party. Otherwise I think we’re all in a fair amount of trouble.

The fact that there were warring tribes in North America does not justify, nor lessen the fact that great atrocities were committed against them by European settlers.

If my point was difficult to come by, perhaps I missed yours.

 

Atrocities were committed by Natives and settlers. Creating civilization out of a wilderness populated by savages isn't easy.

 

Columbus stopped that, that was happening a few hundred thousand times a year, and was a reason other tribes allied with the Spanish. Back to celebrating Columbus Day.......
