It won't hit 2T but why not cut as much as you can, damn if we could cut the interest payment alone, we would be better off. They are going to be transparent and have a deadline, what more could you ask for?

God you seem like an angry liberal. Are you really against cutting pork and being transparent about and having a deadline. Goodness go whine about Gaetz or something, this is a positive for everyone paying taxes.

The Fed is in process of cutting the interest. so that's one thing that will be reduced, although not by Musk, because the interest is considered mandatory spending.

I think it's all BS, but let them posture. No harm done

Someone who has faced criminal investigation as AG.
Someone who is on a no fly list as head of national intelligence.
Someone who doesn’t believe in vaccines as head of HHS.
If you wrote this as a Broadway play it would be a farce.

Why am I angry when I point out the math? You should try it yourself. Maybe, YOU can come up with a way of how Musk can cut $2 trillion without touching SS, Medicare and defense. Give it a try. You might learn something.

To meet their target they would need to cut the defense budget to zero. Do you want that?

So you aren't against cutting the fat and BS, being transparent about it with a deadline?

You seem to miss the point for why the government needs to cut, $35T of debt is the reason. If we continue down this path there won’t be any money to keep America afloat. Read the history of past super powers and why they collapsed.

I said they wouldn't hit 2T but goals are good and working in a transparent way is really good, and lord a deadline for a government is a god send. Most are simply money grabs and go on forever.

Maybe you should let him worry about it and stop getting so angry because you can't make the math worth. Elon has a great history of being successful and making things work. So does Vivek.

You cry about the GOP spending habits, give the far left a pass and now you cry about the GOP cutting fraud/waste/abuse and spending.

They just don’t like Republicans getting credit for making government more efficient and productive. They think the people work for the government. That is about to change.

Without accountability there are many duplicate programs the left hand doesn’t know about the right hand. Intentional? Who knows.

No, not against, I just think there is lot of BS and "reality show" going on right now with the cabinet picks, and Musk etc so I'm not taking any of it seriously. Besides, Musk can say he wants to cut $2T, but he has no authority to cut a single dollar.

Last time, in 2017, when GOP held House, Senate and WH, it was after 8 years of listening to them how they wanted to cut spending, and in their very first budget, they increased spending by 20%.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me

A couple of guys thoroughly unfamiliar with government and how it works are going to make it more efficient? What could go wrong?

It's almost comical at this point. The far left was totally fine with increasing the debt under Biden and open borders but are completely aginst fiscal reponsibility and cutting fraud/waste/abuse under Trump headed up by 2 very smart and successful people. It's almost like they are happy watching the plane as long as they have the controls. lol

Memes are great. Why think for ones self when it has already been done for you. This particular meme does not appear that much thinking was needed.

Why do you think trump won?

So, what you're saying is, you are ok with zeroing out the defense budget as necessary to make the cuts Musk and Vivek intend to make? Because as shown, the entire discretionary budget has to go to meet the goal. So obviously the goal is unachievable.

Goals should be achievable. Every smart leader in the corporate world knows this. You can set a low bar, a target, and a stretch goal, but to set one that's impossible doesn't help. If anything, it works against your goals by demotivating people.

Just discontinuing the penny will save money. Everyone knows it cost more to make than it’s worth.

And how can you be sure the bar has been set to high until you try? Right now the bar is set so low no one feels challenged so they become bored.

I am all for fiscal responsibility.
The question is. Different. It’s about discretionary spending. In order to meet their target of cutting 2 trillion, they would have to make deep cuts in Defense. By anywhere from 50% to 100%. Do you agree with that?

Elon Musk has a history making more money from his daddy's money. Vivek is the more interesting one. He proposed a 59% inheritance tax to redistribute wealth. I bet Trump endorses that one. The bets part about this is how it will all end with nothing real being done and Trump firing them and making two more enemies.

And you cry about democrats spending but give republicans a pass. Or are you going to admit that Trump ran up the deficit with spending and cutting revenues? And you want him to do it again by voting for him again? Because you care about the deficit? Or only when a democrat is in the White House?
