And just who is Jack Hoffman you ask? He's a seven year old cancer survivor who scored a 69 yard TD during the Nebraska spring game. Jack Hoffman accomplished what very few people did this year: He defeated Andy Murray. The 7-year-old cancer survivor who rose to fame after an inspirational 69-yard touchdown run during Nebraska's spring football scrimmage bested Murray, Alex Morgan and Chuck Pagano to win "Best Moment" at The ESPYS. Morgan was nominated for her stunning goal that lifted the U.S. women's national soccer team into the gold medal match at the London Olympics, while the Colts' coach authored his own inspiring moment by returning to the sideline after battling leukemia. "This is super duper awesome," Hoffman said, via KBRX. "Thanks for the trophy. Im glad that you are all now on Team Jack and I know with you we cant lose. Thanks!" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/18/jack-hoffman-espys-nebraska-football_n_3616111.html
It was definitely a great moment, and I am glad it was honored as such. It was also nice to see East Carolina University do the same thing. I don't know about anyone else, but it puts life in perspective for me, and shows me what real heroes are made of.
