As long as we all want different things - or we all have non exclusive objectives It's been 79 years since the end of WW2, and the US is accustomed to being the top dog having come out as the winner of WW2, except for the USSR, which was also top, but we like to forget that, and we came out richer, largely because our competitors/allies had all been wrecked, BUT do we have to be 'top dog', and in what way? Remember: you can be anything you want but not everything you want.
The poll is anonymous but single choice - just like life. To have a focus for life is important and option 2 can consume your whole life, so I think that option is in 2. For 79 years the US has sought security by being the top dog and bossing other countries around. Result: it hasn't worked. We are constantly at war and sometimes on the brink of a nuclear or other existential war. I include in 'constantly at war' the smaller conflicts such as the one in Feb 2014 that eventually developed into the current war in Ukraine, and umpteen regime changes done to other countries without the knowledge of our public.
Being the sole superpower has made us lazy and stupid. We seem to always default to the military option rather than dealing fairly with our 'enemies', which keeps those factions and nations our 'enemies'. I don't mind us being at the top, but I DO mind it when we abuse that power, as we definitely have. We have given up our position on the moral high ground, if we ever had it. I love this country, but I despise what our politicians are trying to make us become, on both the left and the right. Our government is NOT this country, as many seem to forget. The people are. Those ****ers are supposed to work for us, not themselves, and they have been failing, making our world less safe for our children so that they can turn a greater profit. Success of a nation should be based on the happiness and well-being of its people, not on GDP and similar measures. GDP can go through the roof, but that often does not translate into happiness for all. It generally just means the rich get richer.
Yes, the war in Ukraine is a case in point. The Russians and Ukrainians got along for 30 years, until in mid 2021 Biden et al got in and sent over a lot of weapons and ammunition, and the Kyiv government used it to bombard Donetsk. The public doesn't tend to notice things like that because the weapons are called 'help' with no indication of what the 'help' will actually do. Similarly we waste a fortune on weapons but call it 'defense' so it sounds like we are improving our security rather than making it worse. Swapping words around is enough to fool a lazy public.
A near death experiencer was shown that by two centuries from the time of his 1985 brush with death.... America would finally be filled with people who would be full of the Ruach ha Kodesh... the Holy Spirit..... and what our great grandchildren will experience in life will be pretty amazing. I do believe that serious progress toward all of this will be made over this coming decade. https://near-death.com/howard-storm-nde/ Jesus Shows Kevin Zadai Next 11 Years in Heaven 1,493,409 views Aug 12, 2020
We don't have to be top dog in the world.....just so there is no top dog that will threaten our national security! Our government should only look at America 1st then we can have what everyone has voted for!
If we didn't threaten so many countries, few countries would shift resources needed for domestic improvements over to developing nuclear and other powerful weapons systems.
I remember two old sayings: "Money may not buy happiness, but it does buy everything else!" "Money talks, bullshit walks!" The use of power is lot like having sex -- and you're either the "inserter", or, you're the "insertee".
