I wanted to talk about evidence as it directs at deities whether you are a believer claiming one or millions of them and Atheisms standard for evidence.

Now my take is this and will make three position bullet points:

    1. Extraordinary claims demand similar evidence.

    2. Due to the profound nature on ones freedom as in changing ones life to fit the deity or deities systems it must be evidence strong enough to match other well proven things such as Biological Evolution and the Evidence of the Nature of Our Star the Sun. High. Over lower evidence which is far more subjective.

    3. If the deities care if we believe then they will make the necessary evidence known to me in a way its clear and precise to meet the former two points.

So using this as a guide I would demand as an Atheist clear evidence which meets my demands for proof such as to make me change my way of life.

Now evidence often cited are well below this from Theists usually either evidence from a questionable book (Bible, Koran), evidence of miracles often from unreliable sources the same for supernatural claims (demon possession, ghosts) or personal revelations (can't say they are not true but its also not evidence which applies in a way I can count it). So they seem to expect people to lower the bar of evidence we are willing to accept who take the high ground of evidence.

Let me give an example if you say The Bible is the true word of god and say millions believe it so it must be true then I can easily point out other religions which divinely inspired books who have worshippers just as committed to their book being the true word of their divine forces so its then not evidence is it?

So what's your take on this?

There is no scientific reason to treat claims for the existence of a god or gods any differently to any other claim. It simply requires a identified set of phenomena, a coherent hypothesis (which is where many theological claims actually fall down) and a full investigation of all the relevant evidence (including consideration of alternative explanations for the phenomena the hypothesis addresses) to reach some kind of conclusion (which isn’t necessarily a definitive single answer).

There is only any kind of complication because so many people, both for an against, don’t wish to follow this process, not least because they all have very definitive answers in mind that they know the scientific process can’t be used to meet, even if they were correct.

You are without excuse! God is in you. Your ability to choose right from wrong, and knowing the difference is the spirit (conscience). What makes you individually you, is the spirit. And it will go beyond your physical body.
