Before I address this, can you clarify your explanation? Are you saying that both a chimp and a human from millions of years ago were infected by the same dozen or so retroviruses and that those retroviruses all happened to insert their proviruses into the chimp and human genomes at the same locations within the sex cells? And that these ancestors somehow are the only ones whose offspring are alive today?

Also, the "thought" part of your rebuttal is irrelevant. You're hanging your hat on a wikipedia editor's choice of words. If I go edit that article and change "thought" to "known," will you suddenly change your stance?

And that is when you elaborate – see I know about this, they are called Endogenous Retroviruses – aka EVR’s… I know about them and find something kind of funny about it. Our genome is how far apart from a chimp? (they will answer – if they know 2%) yea – 2% and did you know that 8% of our genome is EVR’s? So, since we are only 2% difference of our genome from other apes, then that other 8% of the EVR’s… Who’s common ancestry does that show? That is why I asked you to cross reference… Since all Homosapien Sapiens have this 8% EVR’s then, as you folks are saying that it shows common ancestry – so cross reference. If we share a EVR with a fruit fly that would mean that all life, from that common ancestor that us and the fruit fly came from, and that would be about 2 billion years ago (always good to over exaggerate in these situation to show how retarded this is), would have traces of EVR’s since we came from that ancestor. So… what EVR do all apes have? What EVR do all Mammals have? What is that other 6% - who do we share that common ancestor with since all humans have it…

And if they EVEN START that crap about “this doesn’t mean since all humans have 6% mean there’s some common ancestry”, because it does. Due to speciation events that isolated life on islands and in unreachable places, it does. Then riddle me how it got to Hawaii?

The deal is – it’s more gibberish from the evolutionist. They are saying that we found something inside a chimp and it’s in humans – evolution! Well, that’s not how it works. How it works is we have more than just 8% of EVR’s in our body… Explain the rest? You state that we are only 2% different from our common ancestor, so if that 2% is ONLY represented in EVR’s then we can see that there should be 6% of EVR’s shared by the chimp and us. If it isn’t represented and the 2% difference is in other chromosomes, then ALL 8% better be in that chimp…

You've yet to answer my question. All you've done is demonstrate you don't understand this line of evidence. You tried to evade the subject by objecting that a virus isn't life, again and again. After everybody else here jumped all over you you realized that wouldnt work so you changed tack and made up a strawman version of the evidence so you could take that apart. What you haven't done is demonstrate that you know anything at all about this line of evidence. You are alone on this. Everybody else in this thread and any objective reader is not on your side.
