Not any more. But, yes, I have known the poor all of my life and eating at McDonalds used to be a lot cheaper than buying groceries. Now, fast food is only for the middle class and the richer - social injustice.

    This is so true

I make great money and could always afford Mcdonalds, not anymore.

A shake or Ice cream now costs $10 at most places

Mcdonald fries, $6 or more in connecticut

The middle class is the new poor in the USA

Have you all ever thought about developing that giant interior where you guys killed off all the natives and there's nothing? Maybe one day you guys can figure out how to get water to the area

The leftists operatives tweak the menu prices at night. Same here in Florida, and everywhere.

Or.....people need to learn how supply and demand works. As long as demand for junk food is high, people will pay for it, - even if it costs more than a real mean in a proper restaurant.

Larger, but not twice as big. Certainly not large enough to explain the price difference. I also found the quality to generally be poorer than what I would eat here. Not universally, but more ofen than not.

An item from the 'mains' menu here in an average restaurant or cafe costs about as much as the hourly rate the servers are getting paid, though 'lunch specials' cost quite a bit less. It seems that comparable meals in the US cost more than the hourly wage - sometimes quite a bit more.

Not sure why that is, but it seems like your workers are getting shafted.

Most of the 'natives' we killed off weren't living in the 'giant interior' with no water because there have never been many people living in the 'giant interior' with no water. We killed off the ones living on the good agricultural and mining land, which is how we built such a wealthy & prosperous society. Much like your nation, but WAY better run.

Anyone who knew anything about the geology and geography of the 'giant interior' of Australia would know why pumping water there isn't viable....but you don't seem to be that person. Get back to me when you've done some reading.

In the meantime maybe try to work out why you overpay for mediocre food prepared by underpaid people. Someone is doing well there, but it doesn't seem to be you or the people doing the hard work.

You can imagine that if it makes you feel better. I'm on my way to the Gulf Coast to ride a motorcycle and swim in the gulf and catch some fish.

Life is very good here. And we don't have a nanny state that tells us that we can't have things that go boom.

My wife and I stopped at an Arby's yesterday for a quick lunch in the car. They had a 2 for $6 sale. My wife had a chicken sandwich and I had a beef sandwich. We drank water. $6. It wasn't great food but it was filling enough. We rarely go to restaurants of any sort. We have better food at home.
