Feeling Good: Senate Republicans Confident They'll Clinch 55 Seats Heading Into The Next Congress...

Gardner and the National Republican Senatorial Committee must have some solid internals because they’re predicting an increased Senate majority of 55 seats heading into the next Congress. Virtually, all the red state Democrats, except for Manchin in West Virginia and Jon Tester in Montana, are expected to be picked off, with Marsha Blackburn, Dean Heller, and Martha McSally holding the line in Tennessee, Nevada, and Arizona respectively.

In Nevada, Heller has eked out a two-to-seven point lead in the latest series of polling over Rep. Jacky Rosen. Emerson has him up seven, but NBC and NYT polls have him two points ahead, which is roughly the margin of victory Heller secured in his 2012 race. Las Vegas will always make this state competitive due to the enclave of pro-Democrat, pro-union workers, but this is very, very good news. Yep.....I was calling for the Repubs to take 4-5 seats in the Senate. Repubs have 51 now. 5 Seats will give them Control of the Senate for good decade. Once the Repubs can get A Super majority the Demos will be done for decades.

The House is still in play. It's almost impossible that the GOP doesn't lose some seats, but the GOP has a fairly good shot at keeping the gavel.

I've not looked at these polls, but polling companies often over-poll Democrats.

Last election is a good example of wishful polling.

Yes, even Nate Silver was disappointed that he had to swing seats back over to favoring Repubs. I said from the beginning the Demos will come up short 2 or 3 seats in the House.

I give the Dems odds to win the house by a 4-8 seats. But that's just my guess.

Turnout of the Silent Majority is hard to predict.

 

The more unhinged the Left gets, the more of that Silent majority is showing up. Plus Trump jumped on this Immigration issue and has the Demos and the Lame Stream playing defense.

The GOP has a huge advantage in the number of Democratic Senate seats vs Republican ones on the line in 2018, and they could even pick up a few. That means business as usual under the Turtle.

American voters awarding Democrats the House would have a huge impact, of course. A check on Lyin' Don and the Senate would greatly impede the metastasis of trumpery.

Unless the Trump Justice Department Special Counsel proves the P-Grabber's direct complicity with Putin's agents in his perversion of a US presidential election, it's essential that Democrats not impeach him. Disposing of the morally-repugnant entity would only remove an obstacle in the fanatical theocratic path of Ayatollah Pence.

Democrats winning a few governorships would bode well for the nation's future, essential in undoing Republican-gerrymandered districts in 2020.
