They've been safe and well fed for so long that they're bored out of their minds. Interferring with children seems to be one of the many ways they've found to relieve that stultifying dullness.

Extreme sports/adventure is another .. those reckless nutters are almost exclusively white and middle class or above. Their immense safety and comfort means they find it incredibly difficult to achieve joy in the ordinary things. To feel even halfway normal, they have to jump off buildings or climb mountains.

Sure, fix the root cause. The cat is a symptom of something else, but that symptom still needs to be 'treated'. And treatment doesn't mean exacerbation.

I think this is just kids seeing what they can get away with. Refusing to set boundaries for this sort of thing is going to lead to some extremely poorly adjusted adults. Just look up adult babies or puppy play these are people that try and live as either small children or human dogs and it's sad.

Don't worry .. some adult will make it happen.

Again, I agree. This country could use a national power outrage for a few years. I’m sure that would bring these degenerates back to earth.

I do think some hard living would bring a huge improvement to perspective, as painful as it would be in the doing.

I'm not an expert on this condition, but I don't think direct confrontation is necessary. I think the best thing is to not make a big deal of it, one way or another.

It's a private school. That will mostly be white
    conservatives ;)

Yes sorry, it's all I had to go with. But I think the way the media portrays this is an interesting part of the discussion.

You have any proof that it’s mainly conservatives that attend private schools? Private schools and Christian schools are two totally separate things.

It's odd, yes. but thinking back to my high school and all the different groups and ways of dressing, and fads and In-N-Out Styles and cultures, I suspect this whole identification thing has been around for a lot longer. it's just coming out and being labelled now.

It could well be a Catholic school as well. Many private schools are Catholic because they get a nice cash injection from the government.

Conservative leaning. It would depend which area. I should add in the poorer areas Catholic schools will be more diverse.

    What?

Have you been through the gates of the average private school in Sydney or Melbourne lately? A significant proportion will be migrants or children of migrants. But yes, they ARE conservative.

Not in this country. Private schools here are pretty much all faith-based. Anglican, Catholic, Islamic, Jewish, etc.

Well for 8 year olds is called pretend. I remember pretending to be a dinosaur and a grizzly bear when I would go to the pool I pretend to be an alligator.

It's okay but in the classroom it's not time to pretend.

Furrys are a different sub culture but harmless.

You disagree? Human beings are weaker than they have ever been. Change my mind.

and when she wants a tail surgically added; then what? When she wants to pee on sofas and rugs like cats do, then what? Would you support those surgeries much like addadicktome or lopmydickoffme surgeries?

lols! Where were you when Jocelyn Wildenstein decided this much plastic surgery was good for her?

There are multiple multiple instances of extreme body modification today so where are you going to say “no” ?

So a kid wants to act like a cat and the school doesn’t mind because it’s not disrupting anything. Why is this making international news exactly?

probably because the first time she goes through this they will support her
the second time she goes through it they will tolerate it

By the time she reaches her 9th life, they will be sick to death about it
