Now we're up to, like, '12D chess' or something?

Not sure whether they think Trump is the dumbest genius or the smartest moron...

Well....you know given the way the Trump Admin has played the Dems, and repeatedly had them cleaning egg off their face...this wouldn't shock me.....

Yes and "they" have been caught giving "such as Gabbard"
    less air time.
    Imagine that.

    Can "they" be trusted.

Credibility is not in fashion in all of Washington DC, on both sides of the aisle.

    The REAL question is
Why is it so successful that candidates are willing to do it?

I agree w/ you Mod-pan, however, she does represent a fully ensconced, Socialistic repertoire of ideals. I have to keep reminding myself of that fundamental truism, as I too gravitate toward her. Albeit here ideological leanings, she is a remarkably accomplished woman, politician, Army NG Major etc... No doubt about it, if I had to pick a socialistic 'poison' ticket out of the DNC's offerings - it would be Gabbard & Yang.

(Just remember... Gabbards would still wreak havoc in this nation - growing top down onerous bureaucratic oversight & diminishing personal freedoms)

Well, I don't think it's quite that limited. I think most chumps with a fragile-yet-arrogant attitude, self-obsession-to-the-exclusion-of-all-others, unearned senses of entitlement and the beginning touches of senility could pull it off. One thing that might limit it is access to money. Trump's having been a wealthy man(we think anyway since we can't confirm) has boosted his sense of importance, entitlement, and center-of-the-universeness well past that of the average arrogant self-obsessed entitled and slightly senile chump.

    Everything considered,

    Hillary' not President,
    SCOTUS is Conservative,
    Economy is booming
    Illegal Immigration is way down

I'll forgive Trump everything else short of shooting people on the 5th Ave.

Of course you will. The ends justify the means, right?

So what if you had to sell out your ability to credibly condemn dishonesty and corruption(including Hillary's) and personally egregious behavior. Who needs to be able to do those things? You don't. Trump supporters don't either. But you'll still lay claim to them whenever it suits you to attack the critics of Trump. See, you think you get to have your cake and eat it too. You can condemn corruption, dishonesty, abuse of power in Democrats, but overlook it in Trump. You think you've found a way to have the best of both worlds.

But you haven't, except in your own mind. Now granted, the same kind of behavior you're displaying here can be found in Democratic supporters too. They'll do the same thing and make the same stupid mistake you are, thinking they can have their cake and eat it too. But none of you can. Not while retaining any credibility.

So now, what we really have in this country, are a whole bunch of children, screaming at each other because they can't quite seem to understand that by having one set of standards for themselves and those they agree with and another set for those they disagree with, they're just catalyzing stupidity. It's self-imposed dumbing down. You blame it on the lefties for the dumbing down. The lefties blame it on you. But it's all of you, because it's the only way you can still support the politicians you want without holding them responsible for anything they do. Politicians see this and they use it to their advantage, knowing that in most cases their actions or inactions won't really change their support.

So you take your Trump now. And then, in 2 years or 6 years, when a new person is in there that you don't agree with, all of a sudden all those ethics and values you stuffed in the trash can right now will come screaming back into memory. Then it'll be your turn to scream about things you didn't give a crap about when it was a guy you agreed with. And you'll condemn all the stupid people on the other side of the aisle for supporting such a person, all the while having forgot that you just got done doing the same exact thing.

Interestingly your post reminded me of the message I heard from the pulpit this past Sunday, re. membership / the 'body'... As one who has never officially become a 'member' of a church there is the usual misgivings of personal inadequacy & fallibility. So I learned, in the context of the Church, there are flawed individuals who alone are inadequate but in the synergistic facet that they are intended for - are made 'complete'. (yehh, yehh even the atheist can identify w/ the underlying implications here, lol.)

As Per our POTUS (past or present) DESPITE their personal inadequacies (of which we all posses - aplenty) their talents & qualifications can be harnessed for 'good'... As individuals we don't have to 'ONLY' be defined by our shortcomings!

To paraphrase a Teddy Roosevelt quote that I learned as a child & how I recall it... 'It's not the critic who counts - not the one who points out how the strong man stumbled, or the doer of good deeds could have done them better. No, the credit belongs to the one actually in the arena, who's face is marred by dirt, sweat & blood - who strives valiantly again & again w/ great enthusiasm and devotion toward a noble cause... The man who at best realizes the triumph of high achievement & at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly - that his place will never be among those cold & timid souls that know neither victory or defeat'

Gabbard disagrees with "Knees" Harris' call to censor Trump on twitter.
