` "Republican-controlled states have been proposing and passing religious freedom laws to retaliate against legalized same-sex marriages. The Daily Beast noted Georgia is the newest state to propose such a law, which turns out to be the most dangerous. The Georgia Religious Freedom Restoration Act (GRFRA) is primarily designed to discriminate against homosexuals. However, as Jay Michaelson of The Daily Beast points out, Georgias law is the strictest. Essentially, anyone can protect virtually any action by saying its a religious exercise. This is a preemptive strike against the LGBT community, said the executive director of Georgia Equality, Jeff Graham. The laws language can be interpreted to include archaic, Old Testament teachings that say its okay to beat children and discriminate against women, while maintaining its true goal of discrimination against homosexuals. Graham also said that people have used religion to curtail child-abuse investigations." - Source` ` A quote comes to mind; If Jesus came back today, and saw what was going on in his name, he'd never stop throwing up. I have no kick against the prophet Jesus Christ. He was a good man and had a religion named after him but from everything I've read about him, hate wasn't his cup of tea. There is nothing more repugnant and vile than to see hatred hiding behind the mask of religion. Thankfully not all Christians feel that way but it would appear that the new nexus of hate oriented Christianity, is coming from the politicians of the peach state. Old habits die hard and the TP & religious right will not give up until they all pass on. Given the demographics, we don't have long to wait. `
