The act of the thread creation speaks louder than the thread topic itself. As I've said. Lots of people say lots of things about Trump. But why make a thread about it? It's not really news worthy since Trump isn't in any office or power. I mean if it wasn't abundantly clear by now, the media craves Trump. Trump anything gets clicks and shares and attention and ad revenue. It's very easy to find anything with Trump's name attached too it. As such I've kind of stopped paying attention. Since again, he's not currently in power.

    No, I am not.

RodB and I were discussing what are things that real Conservatives hold true.

Tarriffs are not one of those things.

Ergo, it is not a strawman argument.

Had you taken the time to actually read the entire exchange, you would have known this.

Oh, so if someone creates a thread, he or she is fair game, is that what you are saying?

Because PF rules say (very specifically) something else.

I will now act as if you are being sincere: this thead was created because it is an actual, verified current event and the words of a high ranking pol could well be worth noticing, words which, I notice, you have still not responded to.

Until his ashes are spread over various golf courses around this country, he'll continue to be a threat to America....

I was fine with ignoring that one term incompetent ass hat until 1/6...

If he won't go away, we won't let him remain peacefully...

If you do not recall, lots of people in the republican party said lots of things leading up to the 2016 election and most if not all eventually fell in line or the like. I can't be interested in any proclamation or declaration regarding anything anyone says until we are there. Because again, anyone can say anything. It really doesn't matter.

When we start ramping up to 2023 I guess we can talk about it then because it would be news worthy at that point.

No, it denotes no such thing.

    So... bye bye.

The quickest ignore I have ever issued. I think I will call it a socky-block.

Now, back to the topic at hand, which is Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan comparing Donald Trump to the devil.... (see: OP)

Trump always had an ideology that never changed over the last 30 years if you paid any attention.

Ok, at least this time you presented an argument in a non-combative way.

    I can buy that immediately.

    progress!

Oh, so, are you saying that Trump is truly pro-abortion?

Because he sure as hell was in the 1990s.

Other than a few incidentals there has been no support from either Democrat or Republican presidents for tariffs since WWII following Republican Hoover's depression causing (or at least greatly aggravating) tariffs. Though this misses entirely the rationale behind Trump's tariffs. IMO super rationale for the IP stealing Chinese, pretty good rationale for Canadian and Mexican specific commodity tariffs, but Europe I'm not so sure.

Ok, at least you presented some facts (with which I agree, btw). However, Reagan did play with the idea of tarriffs, gave up at the end. Notwithstanding, what is so important about differentiating Trump's "rationale" about tarriffs if it is not a Conservative + issue, anyway?

The smile on her face tells me the dude is anything but inexperienced. Wouldn't you say? I would. Lol.

Don't thank me. The experienced are tasked in life with educating the inexperienced.

Federal taxing was a no no for any American politician at the beginning of our republic. At the beginning, the US raised revenues via tariffs on foreign goods and services coming into the US. Conservatives of all stripes and times believe in small federal gov't. You with me?

    Amen!

And as we see, a label doesn't necessarily mean what people may think it means.

I would say that that divorcee got well "duded".

Surely they played checkers and tiddlywinks for hours on end.

What does your meme or your inclusion of the term ranches have anything to do with being inexperienced?...Some ranch hands are experienced and then there may be others (dudes) who aren't experienced.

    Let's find out.

Reno was famous for its “cure,” also known as a quickie divorce that required merely six weeks of state residency and no proof of adultery, a common requirement in other states. Reno divorce-seekers (mostly women) passed the time at glorified dude ranches, which offered the typical horseback riding and cow-milking, but also hunky cowboys willing to roll in the hay. Legend goes that some of the emancipated ladies even ran off with the ranch hands themselves.

One ranch south of Reno, called the Lazy Me, was nicknamed the “Lay Me Easy” for its curative powers.

Lmao. I love it when the ladies call me dude.

It's a little bit of a stretch, though not much, to put Trump's tariff plans (at least most of them) in a constitutional conservative camp as they were specifically designed to get or keep America first.
