Euro Crisis Pits Germany and U.S. in Tactical Fight

    By NICHOLAS KULISH

Most Europeans support Germany in her stand.

I'm sure some South-Europeans will disagree, but I'll advise them to read the article once again. Germany, and Merkel, aren't the bad elements here. Most of Europe is working really hard to make sure the catastrophe that happened a couple of years ago, never happens again...

The British and the Americans want to continue business as asual -- with their financial industries and a small part of the population making huge amounts of money to make sure, as in Obama's case, they'll keep donating large amounts of money to his re-election campaign. In the process they are screwing the rest of the populace.

The latter being the most of us.

    <<<Mod Edit: Personal Attack Removed>>>

In this instance , I think you need to better acquaint yourself with the prevailing mood of ordinary Germans --- the type that vote --- and the sheer numbers logic behind a collapsing EU that most direly affects EZ members .They, the German electors , will dictate final actions in broad terms , whatever rhetoric Merkel wishes to spin this week as sound bites .
Soon all major EU states will be re-assessed by the Agencies and faster than you can say Herman Rumpty Dumpty .
Team GB wishes to disassociate itself from this bunch of losers , and be as far away as possible .
    Step one achieved .
The German and French banks will be crucified soon and particularly if the Vigilantes try to smash the short term Italian bond market .
In such a holocaust , we again wish to be seen to be far away .
With luck and a fair wind , we could finish by being seen as the Team ( GB) that fared best when all around were drowning .
The English ( we carry those other tribes that make up GB ) have punched way above their weight in the last 66 years by being smarter and more devious than our opponents.
Let's see whether once again we will teach our continental neighbours to bite the bullet .

The issues is the Obama admin can't afford a Euro collapse politically. It's not about what's best for Europe and Germany and Merkel know that.

You can circumvent this barrier very simple, Dutch.

All you have to do is to change the URL.

    For example:

Step 1: Following article is "locked" and only accesable if you subscribe and pay. (BTW, I left out www.)

    The URL =

    Step 2:

Erase everything that comes after the questionmark, in this case:

    so it becomes:

Press enter and voila, you circumvented the "barrier" and you can read all the article you want,...

In any case Merkel does it job twenty times better as dumb Obama.

The biggest problem of the US are too greedy banks who pump billiards in the East countries and Federal Reserve which should be abolished.
If EURO will survive Europa must play according German rules, there is no other choice.

Wanted to bump this for obvious reasons -- the Anglo-Americans are trying to influence the German populace through their own media outlets via their ideoligical lapdogs!

Then learn Russian. Why do you ignore them? They certainly provided an alternative to Anglo-American business for 80 years.

And Monaco is not a part of the EU. And Monaco is not a mad jerk nation state like the countries of the EU are. Nobody can touch Monaco. Not even Germany+USA+UK. Even God smiles at Monaco.

Europeans will never become civilized enough to become like Monaco.

So, the second best for you EU people is to choose whether you want to be Anglicized or Russianized.

And since Europeans have difficulty telling their history apart from their own propaganda, I recommend you choose Russian. The USSR isn't that long gone yet, there may be people who are so old that they remember the USSR. But even if Germany wins out at the end, how will that give Europeans a better future than the Russian way? (OK, the Anglo-American way is too exploitative, but is the German way any different?)

    LOL!

Monaco may not be part of the EU, but could you please tell us what kind of money you use when you pay for your groceries?!

From the OP “We will save the euro. We have to save the euro."

Why? Did anyone ask the taxpayers who stump up the cash?

Clearly, we Brits are expected to believe that the EU wants to reform or is even capable of it as the price of our compliance.

    Well , Janpoor ,
You wrote this Topic nearly six weeks ago and everything you suggested and posited was hopelessly wrong -- as I told you .Do you have any sensible explanation of how every assertion you make in this Forum Section turns out to be nonsense -- refuted by what later happens in the real world .
May I have your permission to act as a Contrarian Investor based on your Posts?
It seems a quick way to become a multi millionaire .
