Alerted that Glee was going to honor its deceased star Cory Monteith with a tribute episode I wrote my own scene-by-scene version of what happens after his death. I just finished it and posted it on my Tumblr blog (phillipcole). It covers 64 days with an incredibly intense ending. I cried six times writing it. Someone please read it and tell me if it's any good.
Sorry, I don't think I'm your target audience. I just thought this was a parody thread on Glee in the future. You know, Glee:1999, or Glee Trek.
My target audience is anyone who can recognize a coherent storyline when they see one. This was a mental exercise that caused me to trach the daily activities of over 60 characters through incredible situations. About 40 of the characters had to stay within the limits of their personalities as the series developed them. About 10 more are characters who have had only minimal introductions. I expanded them, gave them characteristics no one expected and made them meaningful to the show. Others (those not named and a few never seen) are entirely my creation. Actors mentioned will be reprising famous past roles, mostly for humor. john Boehner and Joe Manchin make appearances and the President delivers a speech (making it relevant to this forum) and I may have revealed a surprising tidbit of national security near the end. The climax is of a science fiction nature and I believe the best ever attempt to explore that subject. Anyone familiar with past attempts at that genre should be fascinated with the last five days. Along the way you'll see my approach to issues of: sexuality psychology philosophy ethics religion heredity theology and love. Now that it's done I need to get it to someoe who can hire me to write. I want the last scene to be a true story (for one of my other projects of course) immediately.
I accidentally saw the first 10 minutes in early 2010. When I saw it was about a gay boy and a pregnant girl I saw its potential to be the most socially significant show ever. It was the first series show I had started watching regularly for over two years. (The previous two were motivated by straightness. You may be right soon. In any case, straight people will love my story.
SpaceCricket, were you by any chance referring to my post long ago about the test that might be required to prove a person seeking to marry a same-sex partner is gay (because it would be illegal for a straight person to marry a same-sex partner because the reason might not be to have sex? My point was that gay people have characteristics unrelated to sex that should make them identifiable (much like the NAZIs finding Jews in ways other than catching them in the act of being Jewish). As Kurt said to Dave Karofsky: "You can't be gay and not know who Eve Carrington is." Happily my first thought was Peyton Place, then I realized it must be that 1951 movie with all the ugly people. (I came across it twice and turned it off when I saw no one in the cast I would look at on purpose.
If you want a good show to have some fanfiction of, use Birdy the Mighty decode the second season easily one of my favorites of all time. But I don't have time to read yours, plus I'm not a Glee fan, but I bet it's good.
Write a script for a Star Trek film and you have my solemn promise I will read and critique. Glee is definitely not targeted for my demographic... I don't watch it, though I admire your dedication to the craft considering none of your efforts involve any sort of compensation I'm guessing.
Unfortunately I was watching a rerun of the episode with the big guy the pretty girl and the villain when my grandfather died. My grandmother died the week Star Trek Generations came out as I expected and my first cousin once removed's second wife died the week the revised Star Trek came out a few years ago. I did publish an essay called "Errors in Star Trek" last year and made about eight cents. Basically I noted the oddity that no planet in the original series had gravity thicker or weaker than Earth, all creatures die with the same amount of phaser blast, and they never once needed coats or masks. This story does feature three-foot fruit flies and a time machine. I think if you read days 60 through 64 you will find the most realistic presentation of what would happen if someone did go back just nine weeks to change a few small things. At the end they have changed things in story lines the main characters had no idea about. I also have a time machine story called Hipple 2016. Imagine some of the worst people on Earth being the first to make a time machine and plucking one person from the past to try to control the future.
