The CNN reporter attests that, as a resident of Georgia, USA, he can confirm the validity of alarmism regarding hot weather. Fifty years ago no one paid much attention to the mid east other than perhaps watching Lawrence of Arabia, an epic film starring Peter O'Toole, Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn, and Jack Hawkins, or maybe re-runs of I dream of Jeannie. Saudi Arabia always had its 'empty quarter' that was uninhabitable due to heat and aridness. The Saudis became synonymous with opulence due to their oil sales. What if the empty quarter turns into the empty whole? It would be one of the great ironies of history.

If anybody cares, they are already free to do whatever they want in order to stave off this supposed global catastrophe. But just can we please relegate that to exercising with richard simmons? If you are going to make doomsday predictions, make sure you don't include a date, lest you risk shaking the faith of the wavering believers. As if.....
