Isakson is a very popular senator here in Georgia. Trump is becoming more unpopular. Trump's approval rating has dropped from 52% at the beginning of his presidency down to 44% today. His disapproval has risen from 35% up to 48%. I'd say depending on whom the Democrats select as their nominee, Georgia is very much in play for them in 2020 if Trump runs for reelection.

McCain or no McCain, if Trump is in trouble in Georgia, what does that say for Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan? I don't think many Georgian's are paying much attention to what Trump says about McCain. But I do think Trump's obnoxious and uncouth personality has worn very thin among some folks down here. Add all these unnecessary and ridiculous feuds where Trump comes off looking like a hurt five year old which just had his ego bruised. He's in trouble down here.

Every good politician who puts country over party will do 'bad stuff' to their party at some point.
Loyalty to the country and Americans should be top priority over a political party.

McCain liked taking positions contrary to the conservative Republican position. He loved poking the party in the eye and the media attention he got for doing it. Then he ran against Obama and the media treated McCain like trash.

I don't remember that. I do remember I was set to vote McCain 2X. 1st time bushkie 2 got the nod so I couldn't.
2nd time, he took on Palin as VP. I simply could not vote for him then.

As I said, he was Country and American citizens over party.
I wish every politician was that LOYAL to America. And less loyal to some political party.

Yes, John McCain served bravely in the military when he was a young man - long before he became just another treacherous crooked pol.

“The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation.” THE GUARDIAN, John McCain passes dossier alleging secret Trump-Russia contacts to FBI, By, Julian Borger, 11 January 2017.

McCain was a professional politician. They all tend to be dishonest. McCain was no exception. Google: McCain "repeal and replace" for a recent example.

We know that to be true now, despite his denials, making McCain a liar. He was the Swamp's favorite RINO, good riddance.

Yeah McCain was a traitor to his President, his party and his country because he thought that the 'repeal and replace' promise was about both repealing and replacing Obamacare, not repealing Obamacare and stalling off the notion of ' replace' because the Republican Senate had no plan that would accomplish substantially similar goals and had enough votes for passage. He misread the whole concept thinking it was not a synonym for 'Kill Obamacare and leave everyone hanging from a cliff' [/QUOTE]

He broke his campaign promise, and his promise to his colleagues to vote for the bill Just another treacherous crooked pol.
    McCain's apologists are very ineffective.

No, the bill he promised to vote for, was never written and submitted to the Senate floor. There was no 'repeal and replace' because McConnell could not find a replacement that would garner enough votes to pass. the traitors were the Republicans in leadership that sent out a fraudulent bill, and expected McCain to vote for it. Every single Senator who voted for that piece of trash that replaced health care and insurance bill into a trojan horse for tax relief for the 1%ers, was a traitor.

His party's leadership relied on his promise to vote for the bill. He broke his word and betrayed them. McCain was just a typical back stabbing crooked pol.

His party's leadership wanted him to vote for a fraud, a con. There was no replace in the repeal and replace legislation. they gutted every single provision that might provide substance to the promise of replace, and shoved a giant giveaway tax break for the 1%ers instead. They did not even send to committee to review this piece of garbage. They did it on the Senate floor with no time to examine and review what they stuffed the bill with. Every single Senator who voted for that Frankenstein owes the country their resignations.

If McCain actually believed that he should have told the leadership not to rely on his vote.
McCain betrayed his his party leaders and the president he had relied on for support in his reelection campaign.
John McCain, just another typical back stabbing crooked pol.

He did. He gave them every opportunity to pull the bill and the amendments they wrote last minute off the calender and move it to regular order and committee review. He said that any amended bill he voted for, needed to be vetted in the committee process in public. It was a dirty bill, a fraud and a scam. They knew that if they sent it to committee, that would provide time for the voters to learn the scam, and more Republican votes would peel away.

He did that once in awhile, just often enough to pin that label 'maverick' on his lapel, but not often enough to wear the clothing line.
