Would it be instantaneous per Newton or 8 minutes 20 seconds after the disappearance of the Sun
from Earth observation is the issue.
Doesn't anyone believe in instantity?

As for Earth / Moon
I vote they remain a binary system although without the Sun to pull the Moon away sometimes,
it may spiral into Earth rather than continue to move away as it does now.

It could not happen instantly.

Look at it this way.....

If two people hold the ends of a blanket which represents the fabric of space-time taunt the blanket will appear flat.

Now if you were to digitally video the blanket and then drop a 6 inch in diameter 10 lbs ball in the center of the blanket and then after watch the video is super slow motion you will see how as the ball falls into the center of the blanket representing space-time the blanket will curve or warp around the ball and you will also see this effect spread out all along the length of the blanket but the effect is less as per the distance away from the ball.

As you watch the video you will see IT TAKES TIME....for the effect to warp the entire blanket.

Same thing with space-time.

I see. If one were observing the whole solar system, it may seem instantaneous. But there will likely be a delay if you were to experience it on earth. That's if gravity travels at the speed of light.

Size can change perception of time. Think of how you would perceive time if you lived on a serface of an atom instead of the earth. Something that would have happened instantly when you were larger, now takes a long long time. We can apply the same logic to the current situation.

The Quantum Level Universe does not behave in the same way the Macro Level Universe does at all.
