They have fixed the false positivity problem with antigen tests. They are still about 50% false negatives overall. Just like PCR they are only accurate after symptom onset. So pretty much useless for stopping presymptomatic spread.

Maine wouldn't let folks from other states (beside their liberal neighbors) into their state. A 14-day quarantine was required

So, locking down and masking up wasn't effective; go figure.

At least the wool socks inside their Birkenstocks will keep their feet warm

I read that as testing people needlessly. Positive rate should be 80-90%. No sense testing people who don't show the symptoms.

We hear about the lack of testing supplies and delays in getting results. The govt needs to stop looking at positive rate because it only encourages increased testing of the healthy in order to get the rate down.

Goodness. Didn’t realize they were quarantining visitors.

    Honor system.

Haven't seen Birkenstocks for years, except for those kids that pretend there's still hippies.

What we did was extremely effective, but like just about everywhere, fatigue is setting in.

Nope. When infection rates in NY fell before mask mandates were implemented I knew the popular narratives were incorrect. Unless people stay the he** away from other people for several weeks the rona is gonna get ya. :)

Not very popular around here either. Hard to work in sandals.
I just have a hard time assuming what you did was effective. States like mine and SD etc. didn’t do much of anything for months in way of mitigation and kept infections low. Maine is mostly rural as well, correct?

It’s becoming clear none of the mitigations that are popular or cool are working. At some point, if people are really serious about not contracting this thing they may have to actually do things that work. :)

We're a lot closer to New Yawk. The rich have a lot of summer places up here, and guess where they escaped to...

It does make sense to test people without symptoms--political sense. Use a bogus test, test everybody you can, and voila, your case numbers increase fabulously, increasing fear and spending.

Scamdemic is what this is, not public health.

If science is known by its results, then your science is a false science; as are all "sciences" concocted by the liberal left and their highly paid hucksters.

Countries that actually used the science bent the curve.

Btw, every president since Carter, except Trump, which includes Reagan and the Bushes, are part of your 'liberal left' having improved our ability to deal with pandemics...

Which tells us you're to the Right of the planet.

were lockdowns "using the science" ?

If yes, why do we see lockdown version 2 ? What's the definition of insanity?????????????

We are headed for two thousand deaths a day. Possibly more. We are going to 200K dead, than 300K dead and possibly over 400K dead.

Ignoring that would be insane, indeed. You know, the batsh*t crazy kind of insane.

locking down kills the economy. Masked up folks catch the virus after lockdowns

Does it just make you feel better to have the appearance of doing something; albeit useless?

Step One: First Rule of Holes, when you're in one, stop digging.

Step Two: Realise there's a real world out there, and that if you paid attention to reality, you wouldn't have said that.

Not that I have the slightest expectation you will lay off your little propaganda war.
