The DNC’s Leaked Emails Show They Were Helping Push Narrative Against NC’s Bathroom Law, Too .....

The Democratic National Committee’s emails that were released by WikiLeaks last weekend don’t just show that the scales were tipped in Hillary Clinton’s favor over Sen. Bernie Sanders—they also reveal that members of the DNC were actively wading into the debate in North Carolina over HB2.

As companies like PayPal backed away from plans to expand their operations in the state, and entertainers like Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam canceled shows in protest over the law, which requires people use public bathrooms or locker rooms that corresponds to their biological gender, DNC staffers pushed a narrative about the cost these type of protestations would have on the state’s economy.

In response to the news that Pearl Jam had cancelled an April show in Raleigh, North Carolina, Democratic Party communications director Dave Miranda sent an email on April 25 to undisclosed recipients that cited an estimate from The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau that claims that cancellation of the Pearl Jam show would cost the local hotel industry about $60,000.

Additionally, Miranda claimed in the email that HB 2 had already cost the state 1,750 jobs and over $77 million in economic activity in just over a month since it passed.

One of the recipients of Miranda's email was DNC's deputy director of regional media T.J. Helmstetter, who forwarded the email to DNC communications strategist Deshundra Jefferson and pushed for approval to have the email forwarded to the DNC national email list.

"This is great," Helmstetter wrote in his email. "can we forward to our LGBT and National lists?"

Jefferson forwarded the email and received a reply from another DNC official, who wrote a one word response: "Awesome."

“They orchestrated it. They inflicted pain on the people of NC and they celebrated it,” Woodhouse told wsoctv.com.

Other emails show that staffers were keeping tabs on conservative opposition to HB2 as well.

"I think some of the information coming out of the WikiLeaks shows that the other side was determined for there not to be a resolution of this issue because they thought it was good for them politically. No matter the harm," he said......snip~

You're trying to find higher ground for the repubs that doesn't exist. The american people are tired of ALL politicians. The right has done a masterful job of guilt by accusation of Hillary, while not allowing the issues to end. I said this years ago, that the rights only chance at winning the presidency was to keep accusing Hillary, and never let up until after the election. Apparently you missed the entirety of the 8 years of the Bush administration and the laws that they broke.

Acting as if the right is in any way morally superior in their actions is not only disingenuous to the debate, its laughable. It is the disfunction of Washington that drives the change. The problem is that they are both 2 sides of the same coin. Every 4 years the american people are sold a bill of goods by those running for office, and then the electorate argues amongst themselves while the not holding politicians accountable, or even asking them hard questions.

We focus on the fluff and not on the core issues of why things aren't working. We focus on the theatre of politics, and not the core reason washington is so screwed up. Lets keep focusing on Hillary and have another investigation of Benghazi, after the first 7 found nothing, while those in Washington keep taking lobbying money to pass laws that benefit the few at the expense of the many. Lets waste money on building a wall on the Mexican border to solve the net zero immigration problem.

Stop blaming sides, when the real blame lies on the american electorate for not holding them accountable.

The DNC and the RNC are not bound to parity in any way for any candidate, and they never have been. These organizations have been defining winners and losers within their respective parties since the inception of our country. The ONLY reason that these emails were leaked was to try to pit Bernie supporters against Hillary. And whats funny was that you had Bernie give his party unity speech and do nothing but praise Hillary all night during his speech at the DNC.

Wait, the DNC was forwarding, in private emails, a policy that they forward in public ? Whats the story here in these "leaked emails" ? Thats a serious question.

We were forced to focus on Benghazi....all because Hillary. Obstructed and so to the WH. We now know this from the State Dept admitting they didn't have any of Hillarys emails and after 3 years when Hillary(after threat of subpoena) wanted all to see her emails. The why question being answered.

So the fault does fall on her. Which the American people....should force her to pay for all costs and the time over it. She should have turned over all her work related business with the first Benghazi Committee. She didn't. Nor the second, nor the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and the 7th Committee.

Actually they should hook her up for Participatory Obstruction. Since it was deliberately done.

You are forgetting that the ratings for the GOP controlled Congress is far worse. The Democrats only control the presidency. The reason that we are not getting good government is the fault of both corrupt, inept parties. Now the GOP nominates a loudmouthed crackpot and expects to win. Not very likely.

 

Its the President and his party that have dictated Policy. Despite being in the minority.

Trump is the lesser of the two evils. There is no doubt with that.

Obama has been obstructed at every turn by the GOP congress. The only thing they supported was his Cheney/Bush style nation "building" really destroying.
