For the sheer run of it I'd love to see Trump pardon him on the way out of office

to be fair, with good time, he will probably serve way less than 23 years

time served is often different from time sentenced

OJ served 9 years in Prison, his sentence was 33 years

I doubt that Trump would care for two cents of Weinstein.

Considering the case, I suppose he deserved it, I'm just slighty reserved on the proof that where used.

Matters not - very few prisoners do full time. The question here is one of whether or not the punishment fit the crime - and equal justice under the Law. In particular the latter. This is a "Rule of Law" issue.

it only matters in the fact that you were comparing time served on one hand, to the sentence one gets on the other - there is a difference - so that was not an apples to apples comparison

that would be like saying OJ only served 9 years, why did Harvey get 23 years.... when that would be deceptive as OJ got a 33 year sentence

    And there it is.

Anyone who resorts to phrases like "we all know" is compensating for a weak or uninformed argument.

It is true that I used examples from both time served and time sentenced. This matters not - it does not matter which bar you use - the rule of law is being violated.

I was mimicking you. Actually in this case the argument does not have to be informed.
The was widely publicized across the world, there absolutely no evidence about rape has been presented.
Even though I do not like Harvey Weinstein he is clearly political prisoner, not a criminal.

LOL! You're right ... I did do that. My apologies.

You don't understand how powerful men have used their power over the lives and careers of women in order to compell them. You don't understand the fear and the shame his victims feel, and how he holds that over them as a constant reminder of the power he has, power that they don't have.

Rape and sexual assault/abuse are not about sex. Such acts are about power, and the best punishment for such abuse of power is to take all power away. Weinstein got what he deserved, with more coming in Los Angeles. He's been a horrible man for decades and he deserves to die powerless, behind bars.

Yea, that is exactly what I am talking about.
There was no rape, only emotions about how bad Harvey Weinstein is.
I don't think it is a good political system, where any person can be put in jail for having too much power.

If woman is selling sex for the favor she is responsible for her action.
I do not understand why man should go to jail.

Except that he did rape women. While in general he was just being a scumbag, there are several cases of him forcing himself on women.

No one forced to have sex with Harvey.
They were selling their bodies to get into Hollywood.
It is illegal by the way, so if Harvey go to jail those women should go to jail as well.
I really do not understand feminist men, I guess they all gays.

Read the accounts of the trail. Most of what he did was what you said, but he also forced himself on mulitiple women. Read about the trail.

The definition of "forced himself" is questionable.
The trail actually says that those women were communicating with Weinstein long after he forced himself on them. Some of them were sending love emails.
I guess feminist men want other men to be discouraged of heterosexual sex and turn themselves into homosexuals.

Some is not all. Your logic is that because he didn't rape every woman he ever communicated with, he must of never raped anyone.

If you are against rape, you are a male feminist? What sort of world do you live in?

There is more than one report of him dragging a woman by the hair into a hotel bedroom and then raping them. I'd say thats rape.

The women who have accused Weinstein of rape include:

    1. Lysette Anthony told British police in October 2017 that Weinstein raped her in the late 1980s at her home in London.[107]
    2. Asia Argento told The New Yorker that in 1997, Weinstein invited her into a hotel room, "pulled her skirt up, forced her legs apart, and performed oral sex on her as she repeatedly told him to stop."[24]
    3. Paz de la Huerta said Weinstein had raped her on two separate occasions in November and December 2010.[48]
    4. Lucia Evans said, after a business meeting in 2004, Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him.[24]
    5. Hope Exiner d'Amore, a former employee of Weinstein, said he raped her during a business trip to New York in the late 1970s.[39]
    6. Miriam "Mimi" Haleyi, a production crew member, said Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her in his New York City apartment in 2006 when she was in her twenties.[108]
    7. Dominique Huett said Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her and then carried out another sexual act in front of her.[109]
    8. Natassia Malthe said in 2008, Weinstein barged into her London hotel room at night and raped her.[74][110]
    9. Jessica Mann testified in 2020 that Weinstein raped her, on March 18, 2013.[75][79]
    10. Rose McGowan wrote on Twitter that she told the Amazon Studios head Roy Price that Weinstein had raped her, but Price ignored this and continued collaborating with Weinstein.[111] Price later resigned from his post following sexual harassment allegations against him.[112]
    11. Annabella Sciorra said, in the early 1990s, Weinstein forced himself into her apartment, shoved her onto her bed and raped her.[63][113]
    12. Melissa Thompson, a tech entrepreneur, told Sky News Weinstein raped her in his hotel room following a business meeting in 2011.[114][115][116]
    13. An unnamed woman told The New Yorker that Weinstein invited her into a hotel room on a pretext, and "forced himself on [her] sexually" despite her protests.[24]
    14. An unnamed actress told the Los Angeles Times that in 2013, Weinstein "bullied his way" into her hotel room, grabbed her by the hair, dragged her into the bathroom and raped her.[117]
    15. An unnamed actress sued Weinstein for sexual battery and assault, alleging that in 2016 he forced her into sex.[118]

NEW YORK — Women accusing Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault at his criminal trial will have to answer for two realities — the stories they will tell on the witness stand and the starkly different record preserved in emails and other records from before and after the alleged assaults.

It does not matter what "victims" are saying. If the practice of "guilty by accusation" is accepted by the judicial system, all testimonials have zero value.

Cant actually read the facts of that because its the Washington post. But I doubt all 15 women sent something like that.

Incels have such a distorted view of how the rest of live our lives like normal people.

He was tried and convicted. Were you are the trail? Or are you just reading headlines that support your point of view.

Weinstein was an ego driven liberal man who was friends with Bill Clinton. The type of person on such a power trip that he thought he couldn't be harmed. That's the exact profile of a rapist.

The whole way you prove rape is by accusation. Thats always the evidence for rape because anyone can say "we were just having rough sex" or whatever. What standard of evidence is good enough if 15 accusations, with detailed and collaborating independant accounts arent good enough. Incels are ****ing nuts.

Guilty by accusation cannot be a standard
In a February 2017 email exchange, which was already made public before the trial by his then lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, Mann told Weinstein, "I love you, I always do, but I hate feeling like a booty call.”

I guess he watched the trial and saw all the evidence that the jury did, but came to different conclusion.

    it happens... I guess.

I disagreed with the OJ jury.

    How do you know that?
    How do you know that?
    Charged with what offense, exactly?
I really do not understand misogynists. Why do you hate women so much?

    1. By hard evidence
    2. Not charged because woman cannot be charged
    3. because you are homosexual
