    I don't get why you responded by talking about how Illinois ranks against other states.
    What does that have to do with the city having more murders than every other county in the entire state, even with their less stringent restrictions?

    The point was that even during a gun prohibition period, that county had more gun violence than other counties.

    Well given that 40+ times more people are shot dead every year in the US than in other developed countries it seems to work pretty well :wink:

    Until Americans stop liking having the facility to kill one another more easily than elsewhere (and in fact glamourise it) thats never going to change

    we just like the idea of being able to Kill or stop violent felons who want to harm our families rather than cowardly cowering in the corner waiting for the police to arrive. we also like the fact that we can kill those who would try to come to our country and end our rights

    I always liked Turtles, I rescued box turtles and mended many a cracked shell, and I never murdered anyone.
