https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5c3f4098e4b0e0baf5434d59/amp Well, we have arrived! The insanity of identity politics keep making Dems look increasingly ridiculous. When can I claim that I’m a 67 year old trapped in 35 year old body and start collecting social security?
The thread title looked pretty triggering, but then I see that he's a Democrat, so no news. Democratic privilege.
Case spokesman Nestor Garcia said the congressman had been commenting “on what his Japanese-American wife sometimes says about him.” The Democrat, whose state boasts the largest percentage of Asian-Americans in the U.S., told HuffPost in a statement that he has “absorbed and lives the values of our many cultures.” “They and not my specific ethnicity are who I am, and I believe that this makes me an effective advocate on national issues affecting our [Asian and Pacific Islander] community,” the statement said. “I regret if my specific remarks to the national API community on my full absorption of their concerns caused any offense.” Many have likened Case’s comments to those of Rachel Dolezal, a white woman who claimed to be black.
His comment was taken out of context by right-wing propagandists to trigger the right-wing idiots. Nothing new.
That's more desperate than Hillary loading up her purse with hot sauce on the campaign trail. Anyway, I wonder how this will sit with the transgender and (smaller) transracial movements.
Any notion taken to its extreme is insane, but since we must recognize a male who "identifies" as female is actually female (and vice-versa), that an Hispanic can identify as Asian, it certainly seems easier to identify as "youthful" despite ancient age. Easiest would be to identify as "citizen" despite differing legal nationality. Maybe we should agree anyone is everything they think they are.
I'm Tom Brady and I've won five Super Bowls. I'm just trapped in the body of a 56 year old, overweight, businessman in Texas.
