If batteries life span are rated like light bulbs, for example on the package of halogen bulbs that the life span is rated at 2,000 hours. What it means if you turned on 100 bulbs and left them on, at 2,000 hours 1/2 (50) would still be working.
an all electric car has been made but never put on the market..why?..because it has a generator that runs off the driveline and recharges itself and runs off the generator while you are driving..why not on the market?..because there is no money in it for it will run for a very long time only needing tires and brakes..the batteries are only used to get the car to roll from a dead stop..
Impossible. The best that can really happen (due to the basic laws of physics) is that the car can regenerate some of the energy from breaking. A generator that runs off the driveline would require more energy use from the driveline than the generator could provide. What you are describing is a semi-perpetual motion machine. - - - Updated - - - As I said, for a commuter car, with the only purpose being to take me back and forth from work, 26 mile round trip. I would need a bigger family car that used some kind of fuel for family trips, trips out of town, etc.
