Hey, I'm 12 years old and I've always been interested in politics, but now I talk about it all the time and I'm looking to discuss it with people who are just as interested. What made me really interested was reading fiction (particularly dystopias aimed at teens like The Hunger Games, which is actually full of social commentary and relevance) that has a lot of political subtext and themes, which was a wake-up call for me and taught me to think about, analyse and question society. I learnt that politics is something that shouldn't be left to the pseudo-democratic megalomaniacs sitting in the Houses of Parliament/White House/wherever your government sits, because it applies to everyone. So, my views are very radical at the moment. To describe myself I usually use the broad term "Libertarian Socialist," since I don't like the divisions that all these specific tendencies create in the left-wing, but at the same time need to distinguish myself from the authoritarian socialists who caused death, famine and economic collapse in the 20th century and who I very much disagree with. I will never try to justify countries that have or once had authoritarian socialism and so-called "dictatorships of the proletariat," as this is a recipe for Soviet-style disaster in my opinion. More specifically, I'm pretty much a textbook Anarcho-Syndicalist and I would certainly have been in support of the CNT-FAI if I had been in Spain during the Civil War. I think we were so close with them...Franco and Stalin just ruined it. Looking forward to some good conversation!
