Well that's news to me. Thought more parents were concerned with the types of schools their children are attending.

    Oh well...

believe me...They only care about their kids schooling if they don't have to take time out of their busy day to handle it themselves.

What I find particularly appealing with them is the fact they target some of the most impovershed communities out there and the students excel. Dare I say they kick the collective asses of the district schools.

One reason that high school attendance should be mandatory is so that people can learn not to misspell words. An example is how you misspelled the word mandatory in the title of this thread. Manditory.

    My advice, use a dictionary.

quote=Daggdag;4582889]I have seen many high school students over the years who do not take school seriously and do nothing but distract from from class time and interfere in the education of other students. I feel that if a student does not want to learn, they should be expelled. If a student refuses to do his work expell them.....Not not waste the taxpayers' money and the teachers' times on morons who will probably end up working at mcdonalds until they die anyway.....[/quote]

    Yes it should....

Yeah... destroying the public education system is ALWAYS a great idea.

So name for me one country that isn't a 3rd world nation that doesn't have a public education system.

The countries that are TRULY dedicated to not becoming 2nd rate (*)(*)(*)(*)holes like the US was prior to the early 1900s even provide college-level education for free or at SIGNIFICANTLY reduced costs, sometimes based on academic performance.

Do you people even seriously try to think through the ramifications of these idiotic ideas that you parrot from wherever you get your idiotic ideas?

"Hey, what if we didn't have highways? That'd be GREAT!"
"Let's get rid of our public utility system? Who needs anyways?"

Seriously, why bother living in an industrialized country? Why not move to your paradise. I've heard that Afghanistan has REALLY low taxes and you can either homeschool your spawn or send them to the madrasa of your choice while you ride your camel around the extensive system of dirt paths.

Compulsory government indoctrination facilities have never been about "education," they're just there to make your kid obey.

Actually got a chuckle out of that.

Education is a good investment of tax revenue. Yeah, we got all sorts of issues with our public education system, but we have to keep at it... our ability to compete in this world depends on it.

Ah, but see some of us atheists aren't faithful true believers. I have no problem sending my kids to a Catholic school. Religion isn't like fleas that jump on you if you get close. As far as faith goes, sending children to a private Catholic school would be no different then sending your kids to a public school except different faith.
