    “A Tennessee homeowner held two escaped inmates wanted in the killing of two prison guards at gunpoint Thursday until authorities arrived and made the arrests.


    “Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Bill Miller said late Thursday that the homeowner caught Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose trying to steal his vehicle."

    No.
    They prefer to hear that the convicts killed the home owner and escaped in his car.

    I understand one of the homeowners (a guy saw the mopes trying to boost his truck and he called his neighbor who showed up armed to help out his buddy) was packing one of those evil "mass murder weapons of war" AR 15s

    The incident will be disregarded as being anything more than anecdotal evidence, before it is claimed that such indents are rare, while criminal misuse of firearms is far more prevalent.

    Because the home owner was killed with his own Gun !
    People with Guns in the home are 6 times more likely to be killed !
    But wait !
    The home owner is alive !
    How can that be ?

    The wife and I discussed this, and how it might have been different in, say, TX, where some rancher would have just shot them.
    Had a good time talking through the 911 call...
    '911 what's your emergency?'
    'Hi Katie - it's Bob.'
    'Oh hi Bob! What'd you do now?'
    'Had to shoot a couple varmits. Better send Ernie over'
    etc.
    Bob looks like Sam Elliot. Katie looks like Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island. etc.

    LEO's are more and more seeing the benefit of an armed law-abiding citizens.

    These escapees murdered 2 corrections officers. I'd say that they're lucky to be alive. Police may not have shown the restraint that this citizen did.

    Oh I agree.

    They had to know though that they would have been shot if they didn't comply.

    Clearly these dangerous men were aware of that fact.
