As the rural vote that was previously split has steadily become monolithic Republican, it has begun to offset the previously monolithic minority vote for Dems, shifting the decisive battle to the Suburbs, which for the recent election cycles edged toward the left, but, with schools now showing open disdain and hatred for suburban parents, this vote is now splitting and edging right, even as Working class voters split less on race and move more as a group toward the GOP, crime, inflation, forcing their daughters into restrooms/showers with men, trans-grooming and anti-parent schools all playing a role in this movement. In recent weeks she has faced criticism for the spike in crime in the city, threatened to cancel Mardi Gras because of a shortage of police and then had to walk it back, and now she faces a recall. Now she is refusing to reimburse city taxpayers for her extravagant travel expenses.' 'She says that as a black woman, she is not safe sitting in coach.' Coach is safe enough for her staff and security but her 'safety' requires first class. 'The City of New Orleans has a ban on luxury travel for employees. Cantrell is refusing to reimburse the cost of her American Airlines tickets to Washington Dulles Airport to Switzerland in July. She spent about $10,000 for a flat bed seat and spent a similar amount on a first-class return to France earlier this year. Her aides traveled in coach.' And we aren't hearing a lot Democrats condemning this out of touch elitism that is driving this strong GOP performance this election.

Mayor Cantrell was involved in controversies over her travel expenses because she demands to fly first class on the taxpayers’ dime. An investigation has been opened into a non-profit Cantrell founded. The hits just keep coming. The mayor frequently uses a city-owned apartment in the French Quarter instead of her own home just a short distance away. The New Orleans Police Department is losing officers to early retirement or they are just quitting rather than continuing to remain on the force. Morale is very low.' She said the mayor used to have regular meetings with department heads, for example, but hasn’t had any of those meetings on her calendar for over a year.'
