Neither have I. When I read "Experts predict a million refugees might flee the Gaza Strip amid the war between Israel and Hamas," I take it as a meaningless statement. Filler. And factual. There are so called experts who believe the conflict could produce a million refugees. Im sure there are other experts who predict 100,000.
The article is about what people have said on the topic. Most of it direct quotes, all appearing to be 100% accurate. You dismiss it as inaccurate because of who owns the Post. I consider the NY Post to be accurate, because they have so frequently been shown to be accurate when 90% of the media was dismissing them as inaccurate.

Yes. As a matter of fact, I'm against asylum period. It's an invention of the United Nations that a country must give some exception to people if they cite 'asylum'(in the aftermath of the Holocaust.). And yet, there have been other genocides since then and none have been prevented or necessarily slowed by asylum.

Asylum is a burden that the world shares but not proportionally since people 'want to chase the American dream'.

Do I know the solution? No I don't, but I know Asylum isn't what its cracked to be either.

The Gazian Palistinians whose quasi-government/country attacked Isreal and started a war. Why don't they just surrender and end it?

Civilians who elected to government that represents them and started this war. Turn against HAMAS and force a surrender to the IDF.

Your statements are not facts, just unqualified opinions. We have had asylees in this country long before the UN was established in 1947, and the League of Nations. It actually began in 1891. Asylum and refugees gained prominence after WW2 with the Third Country Resettlement Agreement in 1951 and the Refugee Act of 1980 which set the quotas for refugees and the requirements. Sen. Marco Rubios' family as well as many others who have contributed to society. No burden since nonprofit organizations, including many evangelical churches, help defray the cost.

I just find it funny that you say my opinions are 'unqualified', yet you go on to state verbatim the very same. There was not a mass migration program prior to 1945(You know, the whole atrocities thing and all.). In fact, many countries were asked and they basically said 'thanks, but no thanks' due to their own various reasons(bigoted or otherwise). So do try to be less condescending next time.

    https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/our-history/stories-from-the-archives/refugee-timeline

Per this, our own specific law was passed..in 1948.

But of course these laws had to be passed, because for most of human existence well into the 20th century and the common sentiment is or should still be is that it's always a burden to take in those of different languages, etc en mass. Not just for the native country but for the refugees themselves. That's why its supposed to be a temporary status!

Are you joking?? Its not like Hamas was some highly mobilized/trained military outfit. They're just regular, INSANE Palestinian. If the SANE Palestinians didn't want terrorists governing them, then the people could have easily said NO. They outnumbered Hamas according to "some people". If they highly outnumbered them then they could have easily ousted them, but they didn't. They FOLLOWED THEM, year after year, approving of their actions over and over, no matter how depraved they were. They were CHANTING in the streets as bodies were dragged through them. Cheering as bodies were decapitated, as women were raped. That's NOT a population that overwhelmingly disapproves of HAMAS.

I assume you mean vet. From a hell-hole like Palestine there's no serious way to vet all those "refugees."

LOL Do you read your own link? Your link states, "
    1891
    The Bureau of Immigration Established
"In 1891, Congress created the Bureau of Immigration to oversee the admission of immigrants, including those considered “refugees.” Because early U.S. immigration laws did not restrict the number of immigrants the U.S. would accept, no separate laws existed for refugee admissions and refugees could resettle in the U.S. as long as they met the regular requirements for immigrant admissions."

So, when the Bureau of Immigration was established, the immigration agency established admission procedures including refugees. Refugees and asylees are pretty much one in the same under the law. Furthermore, the Displaced Persons Act of 1948 dealt specifically with the aftermath of WW2 which Europe was practically demolished, industrial production was nonexistent, and over 1 million people wanted to find refuge because of the lack of work, strife, and government uncertainty.. Our economy was practically untouched by war, unlike Western Europe. But that is also why we developed the reconstruction plan called The Marshall Plan.

All of Hamas, yes. Can’t let terrorists thrive. And as long as they hide behind human shield HAMAS is responsible for every death. They’re the governing body of the Palestinians. They chose to attack innocent people then use their own people as human shields, like cowardly animals. And sadly many people truly don’t understand this tactic and why it’s effective for garnering support. It’s so EVIL, yet thinking supposedly intelligent people can sit there and go, “well, Israel isn’t abiding by rules of war”??? WHAT??? Rules of war with those with no rules. Israel should THEIR people in harms way to abide by RULES against those who don’t care about their own people. Using their own people for death. Starving their own people. How do you fight that without killing “innocents”? Killing innocents is by design. It’s what Hamas wants. And Hamas wants as much death as possible. Their own people don’t matter. That’s obvious. And the Jews certainly don’t matter. Hamas wants them ALL DEAD. It’s their purpose for existence.

What should Israel do just sit their and allow Hamas to crawl out of their caves whenever they want kill a bunch of people them slink back because Israel is NOT “allowed” to kill anyone “innocent”. Why don’t all these innocent Palestinians help Israel get rid of the terrorists so they can all live in peace? And that’s what there is when terrorists aren’t in control, PEACE.

And taking in any Palestinians into this country is a death sentence for Americans. It w be more insanity. There are tons of countries in the ME they can go. It’s just like South America. Why are WE responsible for taking in EVERYONE? It has to stop. Why can’t they take care of their own? Why not point fingers at all the countries Palestinians can easily go to? Why point to us?

Notice that "refugees" is in quotation marks, and that it admits that "no separate laws existed for admissions.". So clearly prior to 1948, Asylum was never recognized by the United States.(or for much of the world for that matter.). Asylum, as a principle is a relatively new concept. And it hasn't worked(which was the main point of my post, not arguing over when did it start.)

It has worked from the elite's perspective. You assume that the elites have a humanitarian reason for this. I never assume the elites have a shred of humanity. I believe they use asylum for the purposes of demographic warfare on their own people to make them compliant. They only care about shoring up their own power and wealth and this is just another useful tool in their toolbox. I assume, the problems that these unwanted people create are the desired result that the elite were looking for.

We did not have a separate law, but that does not mean we did not accept them though.

We accepted mass migrants, but not specifically citing the cause of war or displacement(this is because without such laws, we would have the EU Crisis of 2013, when the EU's laws laxed.)

My point is that in political history, this is all still fairly 'young'. It's younger than the US, it's younger then almost every developed country in the world. And so far, returns aren't promising in either preventing genocide, or enforcing the temporary legal status.
