From my favorite character in the novels Daemon and Freedom(TM) by Daniel Suarez. His name was Brian Gragg, his online tag was Loki Stormbringer, thus LokiGragg. My avatar is also an interpretation of his logo.
Should be obvious. R.P. Mcmurphy is one of the greatest characters in literature. I took my name from THAT character described in Ken Kesey's fabulous novel, NOT the character depicted in the movie (as much as I loved the movie).
I named myself after Ricky Williams, who was a legendary running back at UT. He won the Heisman and held the NCAA rushing record for a while. He kicked ass in the NFL when he wasn't suspended for smoking weed. He's a pretty unique guy, and if you ever get a chance to watch his 30 for 30 on ESPN, you'll know what I mean.
I've had hundreds of screen names on the Net, many more creatively inspired; I remember but a handful. This one involved perhaps forty-five seconds of thought and it's just meaningless.
From all the questions you used to ask - always at least 3 per post - CuriousAmy would've been a good one?
I began to write the first programs for personal computers (yet not x86!) more then 25 years ago. Also began to distribute them whether in 1991, whether in 1992. It was necessary to think up how to sign these programs. There was no Internet yet. There was no concept "nick". But it was already fashionable to subscribe by some invented name (for example, "Microsoft corp." ). I thought up "=KRoN = corp." It was the abbreviation of my full name. And on the Internet appeared under this nickname. Approximately from 1996 to 2003. In 2003 I had big changes in life and I, among other things, decided to change a nickname. Shortly before it I somehow spoke at one anonymous forum as the arbitrator. Also subscribed whereas by "Balance master", showing the impartiality. Therefore changing the nickname also thought up "Balancer", a bit later. It was very precisely transferring an essence of my communication in the Internet. I always am at war with strong distortions in some party, sometimes even taking a position of the lawyer of a devil. So since then under this nickname I am known also. Though at old forums where was registered till 2003 and where the nickname can't be changed, I am still =KRoN =
hackers are everywhere and I need to hide my hide my online identity, That's the real reason why I choose a fake name. firefox is my favorite browser and I got my name from it.
The Maccabees was a militia group that fought and won against the Greeks even though they were outnumbered. Also "Maccabee" means "hammer" in Hebrew.
Windigos are cursed cannibals that devour others to increase their own strength. I do the same with liberals. Im constantly using them as prey to further refine my arguments.
It was an Instagram name. I figured I would post a bunch of stories about how religion harms people. Then I realized that it was a waste of my time. Some pretty gnarly stories exist... but finding them frequently is kind of hard, and I didn't feel like doing the work.
I was an ASA umpire for 20 years. Hence the Blue. Still was because I had used (my hometown)Blue at a site and found myself with a cyber stalker and had to leave it for some time. When I came back I used Still Blue so people would recognize me and the stalker wouldn't just happen on me using the old name. Oddly enough there's not much call for a softball umpire here in the Congo.
